Jim and Celine had recorded the song "Is Nothing Sacred" for Celine's 1997 album "Let's Talk About Love", but apparently somebody wanted 20% of the publishing on the songs and Jim (and other songwriters who'd worked on the album) were horrified. After that, the song just never got released on the album. Carole King's song "The Reason" was going to be the title of the album too, but she'd objected too. They upset both Carole King *and* Jim. Ouch.
They said though that wasn't the reason songs didn't make it: they merely chose the best of the bunch they had, which was out of about 20. It's up to you whether you really believe that or not.
I remember someone saying they'd even wanted "Is Nothing Sacred" to be on the soundtrack for "Titanic".
