Oh he was in appalling health. I remember seeing a video where someone went shopping to show us how much he would actually eat. It was horrifying. He was in horrible pain towards the end of his life, because of the injury to his legs. A horse had fallen on top of him from memory. It should have killed him, if you'd seen the weight that fell on top of him, but he survived and was in pain for the rest of his life.
