HB. AND THANK YOU FOR BE LIKE MY FATHER AND FOR SHOW ME THE WAY. J.S FOR EVER.

I hope it's not too late to say Happy Birthday

Hi,
I'm sorry that this letter is being sent a day late but, I didn't even know it was your birthday until I found this list. Since the day is past, I hope it was a very nice and happy day for you. I am a big fan of Bonny Tyler's music but, I have your record, Meat Loaf's stuff and some Sisters of Mercy, so I'm really, at my core, a big fan of "Steinman music". That really sounds nice to say, "Steinman music"! I also want to say you're a very cute guy even though I usually don't like men over 20. Hell, we all have exceptions!
Please keep writing. I just can't get enough "Steinman music"!
Love ya'!
Mary

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO THE WORLD'S WIERDEST AND FINEST

Posted by Birgie the Australian Golden Girl on November 02, 1998 at 03:36:11:
Jim Steinman, where can I start? There's little I can say that hasn't been said already, but I am perhaps in the unique position of being the only lifelong Steinfan who has both hated and loved your music!!! (In case you're wondering, I'm currently in love with it again after a real dark period):-) Thankyou for everything! Thankyou for the wonderful music! Thankyou for being drop-dead gorgeous! Thankyou for destroying any last inch of Catholic-enforced purity I may have had!I know now, I was born a Steinfan and goddamn it Daddy, I'll die one!!! It must have been fate that "Bad For Good" was made in April 1981, exactly one year after my birth!(Well, that's what I like to think anyway!):-) In a place as hot, boring and desperately isolated as Australia, your music has brought humour, beauty and passion into the wasteland that has, at times, been my life, and I can never forget it! What can I offer you in return? Only the promise that I will always love your music!!! ...And the chance to deflower an 18 year old catholic girl if you ever come to Australia!:-) (Actually that's probably a good reason not to come...!):-) All awful jokes and fawning aside, I do believe you are an incredible musician and your music has meant more to me than I can express. Thankyou, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY! ...Here's to another half a century of Steinmania!
Love and Sweet Dreams,
Birgie xox

Best wishes on your birthday, Jim!! Hopefully you are enjoying yourself today. As always, I can't think of the words to express what I'm feeling, so I'm going to quote Carlos, who put it perfectly: "I can't say the words or thanks any better than them allready do it. Jim,I am listening to your music every day for hours. It's like your my soulmate because your words and music are there in my soul at all the times of my life."

Thank you for existing...

Sir!
You know what I think? I think the real difference between the young and the old is that it is passion that keeps us young. Look around; you know it's true. So... please come here and save me from all these ancient, civil and dutiful 20 year olds; I'm getting bored.
Thanking you in advance,
Angie

Every person I know has a birthday so, the chance to say the words "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" to another person is not all that rare or special. But there is not a single other person on this planet, other than you, to whom I can say "THANK YOU" for the words and music by which I have lived my life. "THANK YOU" for the daily reminder that someone else out there knows how I feel. "THANK YOU" for that companionship during those times when I was most alone. On your birthday I wish you some of that same comfort. We hear you, we feel you, we are with you through the MAGIC of your songs. For crying out loud, Jim, for THAT I thank you.

Generally, I don't like to celebrate birthdays. Means your getting older and people actually expect you to start acting responsible. :P~ I'm just out to have fun. Thanks for giving me the music to take along for the ride. :) You are quite right when you wrote that I'm never going to be as young as I am right now. I hope you never forget that either. Have a great day and don't forget to...
Dream more,

Nov. 1

November first. All saints day. A day after the witches new year. Somehow, i find that to be poetic and ironic in the same thought. Saints, as in the christian concept, have a certain lasting impression on society and religion for eons to come. They achieved a certain level of respect and now they are honored with the dubious title of SAINT.
Well, i'm not the pope, and i'm not one of the stiffs that sit around a table and debate who should be a saint and who shouldn't. However, I have always looked up to you. Artisically you are my Saint. You have several titles and we all know them, but i would like to bestoy the title of SAINT on you. To me. You are a saint to me. And probably to everyone else who has given you a Happy Birthday

Hi there Jim!
I couldn't help but using your describtion of yourself from an interview this summer, both SteinGirl and I thought it was very amusing! About a week ago, after my last exam, it just struck me that "Hey, Jim's birthday's coming up soon" and I thought I would send some stuff to you, but then I realized it wouldn't make it to Justin in time, so I dropped it. But, I don't think you'll be too sorry 'bout that, it would probably just be something similiar to what you got from me in the summer package from Justin and I get this feeling you've gotten enough of that stuff already... (: Anyway, everyone else has already said all the intelligent and meaningful things I wanted to say, which only leaves me to wish you a happy birthday!

Happy Birthday. I think your music is some of the best, most inspired stuff out there today. I started listening after hearing the marvelous Celine Dion singing It's All Coming Back To Me Now and I checked the web site for other work you had done. I was surprised to learn that I already knew much of your work. I will be in Germany for Christmas this year and plans have been made to travel to Austria for Dance of the Vampires. I can wait. You keep up the fine music and enjoy your birthday! You're my favorite composer, living or dead.

B-Day Wishes

Posted by Vin on October 28, 1998 at 17:56:06:
So I was really hoping to come up with something remotely clever or amusing to say in the way of birthday wishes for you, Jim, but I've turned up blank. Ain't that always the way? I'll probably think of something perfect to say five minutes after I post this, when I'm in the middle of something totally unrelated like eating or masturbating or whatever, and by then it'll be too late and serve no purpose(except maybe to ruin a perfectly good moment.) But hey, who can leash the Muse, right? Anyway, I guess I'll resort to a simple "Happy Birthday" wish for you, and suggest that you do nothing that doesn't suit your pleasure on your personal holiday. Stay well.
-Vin

Happy Birthday man! It may be another year gone by, but I trust you'll never grow old. Keep on rockin and dreaming forever! This is a silly question i'm sure you won't answer but hell, i'm gonna ask it anyway:
If I use the last 2 lines from Wasted Youth/Life and Death and an American Guitar in a musical/play/rockopera thing and it's publically performed, do I need permission from you or a record company or something? 'Cause i'd rather not do this contrary to your wishes. Anyway, enough of that, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, hope it's a good one!

Way to Go Jim!

Jim:
Your songs have been the soundtrack to my life, and have influenced me personally, emotionally, socially, intellectually, and artistically. My songs, I have been told -- even by those that don't know your name -- "have a lot of Meat Loaf in them" and of course, they mean you. Your lifework has touched me in ways that no other artists ever have. Thanks, Jim, and thanks for always being there when I needed you.
Later, take care,
Andy Hainline
P.S. And happy birthday!
