With a bow I bid you a good day

Posted by Russell on October 07, 1999 at 00:35:08:

Allow me to be the first to mar this beautiful clean message board with
my everyday drudgery. It's not often that one gets to be the first to
smear his greasy graffiti all over a spanking mew wall such as this. So,
as the honor falls at my feet, I tremble at the occasion, hoping I don't
sing off key.

I've been posting messages at this site for a few months now, and I
notice that it's the same dozen of us that turn up every single day, as
if moths to a singular fluorescent bulb. It's a motley bunch, we are,
the leftover dregs, the ones you look away from when you pass us on the
street. And in our flotsam and jetsam we become our own fraternity--I
wouldn't call us a family because we don't bitch at each other enough to
call ourselves siblings. We are the lifeblood of this board, we are the
teeth that sink into it and make it bleed.

I wish you well, Mr. Steinman. Happy Birthday, Lord Jim.

On the 1st of November we won't be celebrating your birthday. We will be
celebrating the day our world started turning. So, on this 7th of
October (which happens to be MY birthday) I will not say happy birthday.
I 'll just say thank you.

Happy Birthday & More

Hope you have a great birthday Nov 1. There is no question
for me you are the greatest songwriter to ever grace this
earth. You are a man who has truely touched a woman's
soul. You have written words that have spoken the
feelings of my heart. I think you and Meat are brillian
together. You are the soul and he is the voice. Please
keep on writing for him and know that true fans know the
genius behind his work. "Someone must have blessed

Thank you.

Happy Birthday "Soul Reader"

Posted by Laura on October 07, 1999 at 17:39:41:

There are those known as "mind readers" but, you, you are a "soul
reader." I've often wondered how it is you "know" me so well without
really knowing me at all.
Your songs have been a constant source of enjoyment and inspiration to
me. At my lowest times they are the comfort that tides me over. You
deserve a very happy birthday and a very happy life. I hope you have
both. Thank you, Mr Steinman. May the Gods treat you with kindness
commensurate to your contributions.

You can dance into the night
I could dance into your dreams
The night could be filled with a thousand screams
Falling into your arms,we will dance the night away
Falling into your arms we will dance the darkest dnace you can see
(CHOURS)
I need to see you tonight
I need to see you in the light
And I think i should warn you
WE will be dancing
We will be dancing
The waltz of sin
It's dark and mysterious
it's endless
It's shattered
If there's one thing, we ever wanted to do
If there's one thing we ever wanted to say
We shall dance the waltz of sin
I know we'll never dance like this forever
We'll never stop when we should
And when you think we;ll stop for just a little while
We;ll keep prancing for the good

Hi Jim,

I wish you all the best (and us more Steinmanclassic) to your birthday.
May your dreams about the Andrew Lloyd Webber billions come true.
You have much fans here in Germany, so like Jeff Bova wrote to me 3
weeks ago "He must have been German in a Past Life, Perhaps Wagner
reincarnate ?"

Who I am ?

I was on the Jim@Gospel-List a few years ago and now I'm a member of
"your" - Bat-List. 31 years of age and in 1984 - Meats "Modern Girl"
came out - I encounter Meat and with his "Hits ouf of hell" I discover
you ;)
and be a fan of you since then.

Hope you fell alright for another "Tanz der Vampire" or "Pandoras Box

Posted by Markus Funk on October 08, 1999 at 08:15:28:

Once again "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" from Germany!!! Kay is right - you have a
lot of fans in Germany! We know not only Meat Loaf. We know the master
behind... but also we (I) know that he ist still the best singer of your
songs (definitely when it comes to the passion of singing and the
emotions). My name is Markus/26 and I would like to take this chance to thank you
for all these incredible songs and lyrics. Never before I heard "Bat I"
to "Tanz..." and "Whistle..." for the first time and surely never again
I will feel more emotion and passion in a song than in yours. Thank you
for your discovery of "Meat Loaf" (He is still the BEST). Thank you for
the great voices of the "Box-girls". Thank you for your hands on the
"Sisters". Thank you for "Bonnie Tyler". Thank you for the movie-songs
and thank you for "Bad for good". THANK YOU FOR ALL - IT WAS ALWAYS A
"TREMENDOUS PLEASURE" to listen to the epics that you wrote. Mostly this
ones which are completely Steinman. Please do not give your songs to
other producers - do it yourself! ;-) With your lyrics and your
compositions and your touch of production.
I hope you have not only this one great day because you are the one that
deserves every day as a great day.
May love and peace be with you for the rest of your live.

Markus.

So much to say...

Posted by Tifa on October 08, 1999 at 00:56:44:

Well, since I'm writing this for Jim himself, I suddenly find myself
with a LOT to say and not much time to do it in...

So I'll start with happy birthday! May you have a great day, a great
year, a great life--for your fans' sake, why not achieve immortality
while you're at it? ^_^

And then... my god, your songs have helped me through some of the
darkest, coldest, lonliest nights I could ever imagine. Thank god I
decided Bat Out of Hell was the most interesting-looking of my dad's LPs
all those years ago... I can't even recall the number of times your
music has saved me, Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through does it on a
regular basis. Left in the Dark and Objects in the Rear View Mirror make
me cry every time I listen to them. A Kiss is a Terrible Thing to Waste
drives a knife through my heart. Heaven Can Wait gives me a reason to
live each and every mundane day. I used Is Nothing Sacred to break up
with my ex. I used Two out of Three Aint Bad to hurt the only man I
ve ever loved. And I used I'd Do Anything For Love to wash out my tears
afterwards.

Thank you so much for giving me every emotion I could ever dream of
feeling rolled into the most beautiful music in the world.

Happy birthday, Jim!

Posted by William on October 08, 1999 at 02:58:25:

Dear Jim,

I hope you'll have a blasting birthday!

So, with that off my shoulders, I can humbly thank you far all the great
music you have given us. I can't think of any song that you've been
involved with that has no special meaning to me. "Life is a lemon and I
want my money back" has helped me so many times to get rid of the
frustration that life brings along... "Bat out of hell" is going to be
the song played at my funeral... "Tonight is what it means to be young"
is the song that made me relize that you got to live your life to the
fullest: 'you'll never be as young as you are right now!" There are so
many songs that you wrote that are special to me, that I can't think of
a way how to thank you for that.
For the last few years I'm wearing a dog-tag with a quote from "Bat out
of hell": "Breaking out of my body and flying away - like a bat out of
hell". So no matter where you're hiding, no matter what you do... you're
always sorta with me.

The beat is yours forever...

Having said that, I hope that you have a memorable birthday! It gets
more difficult as you grow older
to find new boundries to push and new rules to break, but I think you're
definitely up to the task! So
"put the pedal to the metal" one more time! Find some friends that you
can trust and cry "Havoc"!

Boyzone's with Pavorratti. It's a really nice combonation and flow!

That song has supreme lyrics and only makes me wish there was more then
2 versions of Surf's up or even one more of Bad for good.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JIM!!!!
I can't believe it's gone another year already! I mean...I still think I
met you like two weeks ago, and it's been like 16 months! God!
Anyway, I hope you'll have one amazing birthday! November 1st is THE
most fantastic day of the year...just imagine what all of us here would
be (or rather, NOT be) if it hadn't been for that day!!!
I only wish there was someting else I could say...everything sounds so
lame no matter how much I twist and turn it. I mean, for six years you
have been my dream lover, my big brother, my best friend, my mentor and
maestro, my hope, my excess, and my (sometimes X-rated) dreams and
just...everything! Dosn't "happy birthday" sound a bit...pale to a
person like that? But since I hope you know that if I could I'd come up
with something bigger, something more appropriate, to write, I'll settle
for that. I wish you all the best and a wonderful, wonderful birthday.
And, once again- keep up the good work with never, ever ageing!!!

I love you lots and more!!!!!

gettin' BETTER every year. I read somewhere that a fortune teller
somewhere told Meat that you had already written the best stuff you were
going to write, but that was before "Tanz der Vampire." Thank you for
proving that charlatan wrong. Thank you, also, for what you will write

OFF THE TOPIC: PORN?! FOR OR AGAINST?

Posted by cedric on October 09, 1999 at 22:32:24:

I know this is off the topic but i really had to mention this, What is
so bad about straight good old PORN!,(HUSTLER, PLAYBOY)etc, why are
there so many people who want it banned, what's it doing to you, and i
also express this to all you religious folk, not to be offensive but if
you don't like it, why make all the other people who do like it suffer,
if GOD created us all why is that i and another squillion other people
out there get turned on by porn, it's just another form of
entertainment, except it's all natural.
Does it say in the bible that looking at porn is a sin, does it mention
anything about porn NO!!, well then why do all the religous folk think
it's such a bad thing, what makes anybody judge what a person is allowed
to look at.
I thought alcohol and tobacco laws are tough, that you have to be over
18 to consume some goods, but looking at pictures, you actually have to
be Over 18 to view pictures which are subtitled with a word "HARDCORE",
what is the world coming to, Aren't we suppose to be a free country,
have freedom of speech, cause it seems to me that everyone can live in
this "FREE COUNTRY" and have a say except for the YOUTH, that to me is
very sad!!

I have to get going now, so i hope the rest of you can read this and let
me of your opinion.

A VERY! VERY! VERY! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE ONE AND ONLY JIM STEINMAN!!!!!
WE'LL NEVER BE AS YOUNG AS WE ARE RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
------------------------------------------------------------

Off Topic and back again.

Posted by Lisa on October 10, 1999 at 19:26:05:

I find this amusing.
All of these messages are getting faxed to Jim Steinman so along with
his birthday wishes he gets a discussion about porn. :-)

Anyway,to answer your question, people object to porn for reasons as
diverse as they are.
Some don't want their children to learn about sex from Hugh
Hefner, others feel that they have to look like the people in those
videos, magazines, etc. and it makes them feel insecure about themselves
and their bodies even though it was intended to do just the opposite.
Then there's always the old "it's degrading to women" excuse which sort
of goes with the part about being insecure and feeling they have to look
perfect all the time.
This is how I fit into all these examples:
First of all, my 8 year old cousin Monica lives here sometimes and I've
thought alot about what she should or should not be exposed to but I
know she lives in the same world I do and will encounter the same things
that everyone else does so I don't really sheild her from anything nor
do I shove copies of playboy in her face. what I do is if we are
watching tv or talking or reading a magazine or whatever and something
like porn, sex, violence, etc. comes up I simply explain it to her. I think
that's the best anyone can do. History has proven that it does no good
to hide things from children because they will find out about it
eventually so I think it's best just to let them know they can talk to
you about it and sex is not a bad thing and it's also not limited to
porn. That is only one facet of it. This also applies to adults as well
as children. I spent my teen years worrying about how I looked and doing
things to be perfect that I wouldn't even think of doing now. It has
taken me a long time to realize that we are all different. We come in
different shapes and sizes,we have different views of the world, and it's
ok to have flaws.
Anyway, that's my two cents that turned into a buck and a half.
If any of this makes sense to you please let me know. It's late,Ive had
a very long day,Im very tired, and after months of not having a printer I
installed my new one today! yippee! More stuff to mess with!
yes, I know I need to get out more often. :-)
------------------------------------------------------------

Re: Off Topic and back again.

Posted by CB on October 17, 1999 at 12:14:06:

Congratulations to Monica for having a cousin who cares what she learns
and from whom. I'm constantly amazed that the people who call themselves
the "religious right" want to send their children out into a world full
of "sex, drugs and rock and roll" without the skills they need to deal
with it. I would think that if they were really concerned about their
children's attitudes about these subjects, they would expose them to
these things when the kids are young enough to still be influenced by
their parents. It's a big world out there, and, if I had ever wanted
kids, I think I would have liked for them to learn as much about it as
they could absorb while I was around to explain it to them!

Against. I don't know what the Bible says about it, but it is not a good
thing when it becomes too popular. Playboy is a shameful magazine, I
don't understand why it's respected so much. And whatever your opinion
is, the last thing where this topic should be discussed is a Jim
Steinman site. Is there any advocation of pornography in Jim Steinamn's
songs? No. Even the risque songs like Safe Sex only focus on real
people, not pictures, especially "hardcore" ones, which are generally
disgusting. The only thing that actually should be done is the removal
of pornographic links and authomatically appearing images on various mp3
search engines. That is a real problem, and it makes me very sick.

You are totally wrong, this IS! the site to discuss porn and sex, I
betcha Steinman would agree with this, haven't you read his interviews
where he discusses his views on Voyeurism and porn , he thinks it's
perfectly normal for teenagers and adults to be voyuers, PORN is
voyuerism it's all totally, perfectly normal.

And tell me why is PLAYBOY such a shameful magazine!!.
and you all so say it's a bad thing if porn becomes to popular, well
that's the problem Porn and Sex ain't! popular enough it should become a
total everyday common place thing!!!!

PS: The Song Safe Sex has got nothing to do with this topic, all he's
trying to say in that song is that sex is something that can be dark and
dangerous, and that it can be used as a powerful weapon, for whatever
reasons.

My advice to you is, learn a bit more about STEINMAN and his music,
otherwise don't mention things which aren't true!!!

should be more available. This way there's no mystery or shame involved,
no hiding it. It could bring back lots of fun on the sexual frontier and
also get more people into sex. When people are into sex they're less
into war and hate. So, I vote for porn! I vote for Jim! I vote for jim
doing music for the porn film he writes and directs! At last, there'd be

And now before my body has decayed

I'm travellin' on the

Nine plains o'hell
Nine plains o'hell
Stuck on the nine plain's o'hell

I will freeze - I will burn
Satan makes sure I will learn
That deceit - and treatchery
Will never ever set me free

Trapped in the murky haze
Never will I be set free
Damned for all eternity

Out of Lurkerdom to say "Happy Birthday"

Hi,
I just want to say I reas this message board all the time and love it. I
usually don't have anything intelligent to add so, I lurk! But now, what
I have to say may still not be all that intellegent, but I'm unlurking
to wish you, jim Steinman, a very happy birthday!

You're a part of my life every single day. I play your songs and try to
live by those wise words. Thanks and god bless you on your special day
and every day of your life.

Different songs for different seasons

Posted by Tifa on October 12, 1999 at 18:04:19:

Hmm... this is WAY off topic (but it is about Jim's music!) and it might
sound really weird, but I was jsut thinking about how different songs
have the mood of different seasons. For a long time I've thought of Bat
Out of Hell as the ultimate "summer album" and Bad For Good as the
ultimate "winter album"--dont ask me why, but I listen to BOOH more in
the summer and BFG more in the winter, the songs just seem to fit the
seasons. But today I was REALLY thinking about it and I realised that
each song has its own season. Take the Bat Out of Hell album for
example--Bat is a summer song, You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth
also is (hence the "Hot Summer Night" part), Heaven can Wait seems like
more of an autumn song, and All revved Up is DEFINITELY Football season,
Two Out of Three is a winter song, Paradise and FCOL are summer songs...
mostly summer songs, therefore the ultimate summer album! I dont know
that might be really going out on a limb but that's how I'm choosing to
examine the Steinmusic today. Also, it doesn't really seem like Jim
writes any spring songs... any of his songs that have that kind of
rebirth theme are more about rebirth in the midst of sorrow or tragedy,
usually winter songs... anyway I'm going to stop rambling and let other
people tell me that my opinion is crazy... :-P

It must be wonderful to know that you've led a life that has touched so

you know, I came back to this message borad expecting that there'd be
someone like you Betty, all up in arms and screaming about respect and
womens rights and all that other bull dung! sure enough, I was right.
Maybe my little invitation to Jim was better placed in a private letter,
but if it gives me the opportunity to address this in public.

There is nothing bad about SEX! It's o.k. for a person to desire another
person physically and want to act on that. Sex feels good. Sex is fun.
I'm a young girl, I diet to keep my shape, I excercise so I stay fit. I
dress nice, fix my hair, wear makeup and even had my chest enlarged
because I like the feeling of men likeng me and wanting me. I don't go
around with just any guy, but when I do "give it up," it's excellent and
everyone has fun.

So, just to annoy you Betty, I want to restate my birthday offer to Jim.
Jim, if you'd like, you can spend your birthday with my arms and legs
wrapped around you. I promise to make you feel good. When's the last
time you spent the night moaning in ecstacy. It's time to do it again.
Happy birthday, Jim.

Jim, just for the record, time is a mother-fucker. Most of us wind up
waging a pathetic little war against the passage of time, and when all
the smoke is cleared and the dust has settled, and every last fucking
cow has come walking up the driveway, its all too clear who the victor
is. Time is still standing and most of us are gone without a trace. But
you've already done what it takes to beat time: you've woven worlds,
touched lives and left an indelible mark on a lot of people, who will
surely wrap that mark in kerosene, light it up, and pass that torch on.
And you're not done yet, that's the beauty of it all. On your birthday,
here's wishing that you never think you're done, never feel you're
beaten, at least not until fifteen minutes after your dead. And even
then, get it in writing. Have a good one. (Yeah, I know, I know. You

Hi,

I hope you have a very happy birthday. Good luck with making more
wonderful music in the years to come. You are my favorite songwriter
because my two favorite songs were by Bonnie Tyler :"Total Eclipse of
the Heart" and Meat Loaf: "I Would do Anything For Love(But, I won't do
That)." I've been listeing for over three years and I'm 17 right now.
Both of those albums, Faster Than The Speed of Night, and Bat out of
Hell 2 are super. I didn't even know they were by the same person for
the first months of having them at the same time! Since then, I've got
most of your other stuff and it's all really super music but, primarily,
I love the words. Keep it all up, I love it! Do you send out autographs?
if so, how could I get one? Ok now, happy birthday! Sorry for going on
too long!

You haven't been a bat out of HELL and BAD for good so far, have you?!
But maybe it is also the evil part we love about jim...! And maybe this
evil part makes him more than an "average romantic". Otherwise we
wouldn't adore him, would we?
Try being bad, at least in your phantasy, blow away the restrictions you
put on your mind. And then listen to SteinMusic again.

Can we have some respect?

Posted by Tifa on October 16, 1999 at 12:11:23:

I think there are a few people here who just need to chill... if other
people use Jim's music for sexual fantasies, romantic fantasies, both,
or neither, we should respect that even if we don't agree. Music is a
beautiful art form in that it can be interpreted in so many different
ways. We should each be allowed to form our interpretations, share them
with others, and them read the thoughts of others without giving or
taking offence. I'm sure Jim doesn't mind that his songs make a
different kind of impact on different people--he's probably glad that
they stir up such strong emotions. I write poetry a lot, and I didnt
mind when two people I know once launched a fierce debate over whether
one of my poems was about sex or suicide, when I intended it to be about
unrequited love. The point is, the poem meant different things to each
of my friends, as Jim's songs mean different things to each of his fans.
If there were only one possible interpreation, Jim's music would be no
better than any of the pop fluff that's out there today. So lets cherish
our diversity and not bash others for it!

Can't you picture him right now?

Posted by Russell on October 16, 1999 at 02:42:20:

You know it's going to happen. Jacqueline is going to have this huge
manila envelope chock full of what's on this Happy Birthday board. And
there'll be Jim, sitting by himself like the hermit he is, wearing his
black t-shirt with a white skull on it, his leather jacket, his long
silver hair down around his shoulders, and a faggy little party hat on,
wondering what birthday greetings his faithful little Steinmaniacs bid
him this year.

He takes the envelope from her hand, smiling impatiently as he rips it
open, and he pulls out the papers. Oh, that one's cute, he thinks
quietly to himself, that Russell guy sure can write. Happy birthday,
happy birthday, happy birthday, the pros and cons of pornography...can't
you just picture his fingers hold the bridge of his nose as he shakes
his head in a frustrated laugh, as if to say "Dammit, I knew those
twisted morons would pull this". Geez, not just the one porn post--they
had a full-blown conversation over it.

Porn, porn, porn...another happy birthday...Stacy is in love with
me...hmmm, the association between Stacy and porn manifests itself in
his twisted-to-the-extreme mind, the wrapping of legs and the word blow
in capital letters, getting him to chuckle, possibly to pick up the
phone, possibly not, but the thought was certainly there.

A few more happy birthdays, and he tosses the papers down on the table
next to his cake. And he looks at Jacqueline with mock amazement and
tells her he can't wait for the Christmas board.

Happy birthday, Jim. And to everyone else out there, whenever your own
birthday is, remember I said Happy birthday now.

did I say something wrong, Sandra Steingirl? Or rather, did I say
something right? You really do love this Jim fella, don't you? As a
straight (sometimes too straight) man I love him in my own way, which
means if he were my next door neighbor I'd invite him over for a beer
and pizza and maybe go to a ballgame if I had an extra ticket. I
couldn't offer to wrap my legs around him like some other people around
here that will remain nameless. But probably more than any other man in
the world, I'd want Jim to get drunk and puke on my cat and pass out on
my couch. And if that isn't love between men, I don't know what is.

I know why i love the man so much--it's because he never sold out,
because he stayed true to the rawness of his adolescence and articulates
it better than anyone since Bob Dylan. His music is the soundtrack of my
life, as it is yours and most everyone else that frequents this message
board. More than anyone alive today, he gets it.

Does any of this hit close to home, steingirl? or am I completely off
base?

Well...I don't have a *real* relationship with him in that sense,
but...I don't know how to put it. Before Jim there was, for me, nothing.
I was a complete geek, terrified of strange people and the most shy
person in the world. Of course, my not-so-loving classmates had a great
deal to do with that, but still. Along with Jim came so much; I got a
lot more brave (most others hated my taste in music so I had to stand up
for it all the time), and the knowledge that anything can happen if you
just give it a go, which I never had the guts to do before. With
something like "Bat" blasting in my ears I could do anything, become
anything, try anything...he simply gave me courage. He even proved that
anything *can* happen when I met him in London last year, and even
though I was so stunned and terrified (NO, not of him!!!) that I
couldn't speak or move, I've never felt so comfortable in all my life
(stop laughing, Jim, it's true!!!!). I just felt that someone out there
knew how I felt and didn't think that it was silly or ridiculous. He
knew. And he understood.
So I guess you're right. I don't know him (well, not in that sense), but
I do love him very much.
Too much if you ask my mother. :)

Sandra, from the sound of it, one would think you had a real
relationship with him. I don't know you at all--I'm just a punk from
Phoenix who feels honored that Jacqueline herself invited me to the fan
club. I would love to hear your life story, I really would. I mean,
everyone that frequents this board loves Jim in their own right--but you
genuinely adore him, as if you shareed something very private and loving
with him. I'd love to know what that was, that is, if you were willing
to share.

Watching what you say about Jim is kind of like reading some of the
notes I wrote to my ex-girlfriend--touching, expressive, haunting.

I guess we're all scared

Posted by Russell on October 27, 1999 at 03:51:37:

I can't say I understand anything you went through. I can only say that
there were times where I was very alone in the world, and before I put
the whole Steinman idea together for myself, I stayed alone. I even
tried committing suicide twice--OVER THE SAME GIRL; you woulda thought I
would have learned the first time.

I'll never say it was Jim's music that was my saving grace--I put more
faith in God and my new wife. But I can say that his music has helped me
create an identity for myself. I can look at Jim as someone I could
pattern myself after, as someone who never sold out and lived his life
with absolutely no BS.

There are things wrong with my life still. I'm going back to school and
going broke at the same time. My wife is constantly sick--we fear it
could be cancer. And I'm not about to tell you that listening to Bat out
of Hell II will set everything straight. But at the very least I know
there's a guy out there that gets it, that knows how human I am and what
I'm going through and, in his own way,is patting me on the ass and
telling me to deal with it.

That's how Jim saves me every day.

And that's when rock and roll dreams come through.

I'm somebody your music saves every day

Posted by Randy on October 17, 1999 at 18:40:11:

Dear Jim,

Happy birthday. While I'm here let me say for the record, I don't know
what I'd do without your songs.

I'm 16 and my life is a living hell. I wish my fucking parents would
just get a damn divorce since they hate each other and scream at each
other almost every hour of every day.

My grandmother lives with us too and she's the meanest woman alive, I'm
serious! She does nothing besides criticize and complain about
everything I do, they way I look, the things I like, the posters on my
wall, my friends especially.

School sucks the rod. The teachers hate me and the women act like I'm
invisable.

After school and on most weekend nights I work in the meat department of
a Pathmark grocery store. (Don't shop there, you've been warned). I'm
too young to use the machines so I get to haul meat scraps to the
garbage dumpster and bleach the blood and fat off the floors and
counters. Somedays, when I'm extra fucking lucky, I get to do the same
in the fish department.

So you see, Jim Steinman, my life is trash right now. Don't get me
wrong, I got dreams of getting out. Graduating, and moving out of this
hell hole. But, right now, for the moment, I'm stuck.

So, when I feel like loading a gun and blasting my head off my neck what
I do instead is put on Bat out of Hell 1 or 2 and a pair of Sony top of
the line headphones, blast your songs and escape.

I leave this sick place in the dust and go deep inside my head, find my
dreams and suddenly I'm o.k. for awhile.

So, thanks. You're probably the person I hope has the happiest birthday
on earth. You deserve it.

One of your biggest fans forever, please keep writing,
Randy McNair

I'm about to tell you something that very few people know about me and
the only defense I can offer is I have the flu and am heavily medicated.
(pink floyd,anyone? haha)
I connected to Jim Steinman's music before I even heard one note of it.
Sound strange?
I was about 16 and I heard "November Rain" by guns n roses and thought
to myself "why can't somebody make an album where every song is like
november rain? why can't every song on the album be that emotional and
epic?" Then I heard Bat out of Hell 2 and thought "he stole my idea!"
LOL
Anyway, here's the part I was getting to. (yes folks, she does have a
point. :-))
in 1993 I dropped out of school.(i was 17,the same age my parents were
when they dropped out because my mom was pregnant with me.) I had never
felt more alone or isolated in my entire life. Before then my life
wasn't much better, more like downright miserable. I had very few
boyfriends and the ones I did have treated me like garbage and I had no
friends,I ran away from home several times. When I was 18 and trying to
put my life back together I started dating someone who seemed nice at
first then after a while he got abusive and tried to rape me. I got
away(thank god!) but after that I couldn't even look at anyone without
crying or cowering like they were going to yell at me or tell me how
stupid I was. Also around this time I was starting to listen to the bat
2 album and I don't know how to explain this but when I listened to
"rock n roll dreams" and "it just won't quit" it felt like I had been
pulled away from a cliff.
These songs pulled me back but not from suicide more like
self-destruction(I wish I could exlpain it better). They made me start
to realize that everything was going to be ok and eventualy I would be
able to live my life again. Even now when I get depressed or angry or
upset I can listen to those songs and wrap them around me like a
blanket.

I'm so tired of people not knowing who Jim Steinman is. Forget Meatloaf
(even though I like him, too), but Steinman's best stuff is sung by
Steinman. "Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through" has been my favorite song
for over 15 years and my 45 got played so many times it lost its groove
and it took my 8 years to find a replacement (Every time I tried to
order Bad for Good, it didn't come with the 45). Thank God it came out
on CD! Does any one know where to get Steinman and/or BFG merchandise?

Whistle down the wind like a bat out of hell

Posted by Robert Oreck on October 19, 1999 at 21:02:13:

Dear Mr. Steinman,

Happy birthday and all good wishes for many more to come.

I'm a huge fan of theater and recently visited London, England, where my
wife and I saw 7 shows in 8 nights. Far and away, Whistle down the wind
was the finest.

I wasn't aware going in that you were the same genius behind Meat Loaf,
of course I own the quintessential Bat out of hell album. I just want to
say, the same thrilling effect your songs have booming from the stereo
speakers, they have on stage.

My blood was pumping during songs like "A kiss is a terrible thing to
waste" like it does when I listen to the song "Bat out of hell" and the
same intensity as is housed in "for crying out loud" was certainly felt
during "Unsettled scores"!

My favourite scene was the end of act one. Nobody can write
point-counterpoint like you, and the adults vs. the children during the
"No matter what" was spine tingeling! Brilliance!

I look forward to collecting more of your music. A trip to the record
shop is planned tomorrow, I go in seach of your solo project, your
"Pandora's Box" recording, and whatever Bonnie Tyler might still be on
the shelves all these years later. You've really got me craving more of
your sound. I haven't felt this way since I was a kid and that was too
many years ago now to mention.

I hope you'll collaborate further with Lloyd-Webber. It seems that in
you he's finally found a lyricist that can deliver great substance and
meaning and still be able to fashion a song that sticks in your mind and
doesn't let go!

Best wishes for more success and again, a very happy birthday.

Respectfully yours,

Robert Oreck

Happy birthday to our rock legend Jim Steinman.

What would our music world be like if you had not been born to write?

What would our lives be like without Bat Out Of Hell, Bad for Good, etc,
etc. Would we still be wishing for paradise by the dashboard light.

Congratulations on a career of beautiful music ... music which tells it
how it is, and leaves nothing to the imagination.

Love your work,

Hi Jim,

Happy birthday. How cool that it falls during my favorite three days of
the year: All Hallows' Eve, All Saints and All Souls. But, Nov. 1st is
the strongest of the three by far. The first day of Nov. is a day for
celebrating all the saints - even those who are not born yet. You
qualify as a saint too, Saint Steinman. Nice ring to that! People pray
to saints for help all the time and your music always seems very much to
fit that purpose (at least for me)! When I need the same kind of comfort
religion brings, I turn on your songs.

Yes, it really fits that your birthday, dear Mr. Jim Steinman, is on the
special day. You yourself are so undeniably potent, powerful and
magical.

I could never thank you enough or express fully how much your music has
given me so, I won't try.
Sorry to have pratteled on, Happy Birthday!

Where did the roughness go?

Posted by Steven on October 25, 1999 at 09:17:54:

Somehow I felt that lately Jim's music became a little too
electronic...thus sounding sort of artificial. A lot of the natural
roughness got lost...computer sounds can't fully replace real drums and
real guitars and real pianos...and...
I say lately...well, particularly I am thinking of most of the
productions during the period from 1984-1989, including the STREETS OF
FIRE-Soundtrack, Bonnie Tyler's SECRET DREAMS... album, even the
PANDORA'S BOX project, and some productions after BAT II, including the
songs for/performed by Celine Dion and Bonnie Tyler.
I had to love these pieces of marvellous work though, no doubt about it!
...but then again...BAT II is much more intense than the productions
named before, as electronic and natural sounds are effectively combined
on that album. It's the same with TANZ DER VAMPIRE.

Jim's music has got to be rough and raw and exploding...and that's why
it needs a lot of natural power -- hey Jim: don't you think the
same...?! :-)

Jim makes one dream come true...

Posted by CrazySteven on October 25, 1999 at 09:21:21:

Some of us may wish nothing more than a night with Jim, some would like
to work with him as musicians...what else do we dream of?
What would we wish if our master came along and promised us to fulfill
the one thing we expressed in that very minute...?

Well, I myself wish nothing more, as unromantic as this is, than being
allowed to sit in a small corner of the studio where Jim would be
recording his marvellous work...and thus be able to watch the final
coming alive of his songs from the first demo to their perfection.
And sometimes I think it might be as simple as asking if I'm allowed and
Jim says that it would be alright... :-) ...maybe some of our dreams
didn't come true so far because we didn't believe they ever could and
didn't ask... ...but maybe not, let's not think about that version! :-)

So Jim: Am I invited...?! :-))

Seems I've gone a little crazy right now...hope no one minds! %-)

Were we all shunned in high school?

Judging from the posts on this board you would think we were all
outcasts in school. Me,the Steingirl,Randy, even Jim from what I
understand. Anybody else want to jump on the "socialy dysfunctional"
bandwagon? :-)
The strange thing for me is now that I'm all of 23 I look at the people
I went to school with that were considered popular and alot of them
aren't doing so great. I sometimes wonder why that is. Maybe they were
fine as long as they were in school but as soon as they got out in the
real world they couldn't function but I did terrible in school even
though my IQ has always hovered around the genius level and now I have
no problem standing on my own two feet anywhere else but school. Are we
all backwards or something? :-)

Posted by Pobbie on October 28, 1999 at 15:29:15:

I can see the point, although I honestly feel now that the school years
are irelevant. I was a misfit, I suppose, because the "in crowd" never
had me in. My reaction then was the same as now, namely "?" (For those
not watching me type this, that was a shrug of the shoulders.)I went to
school in Dandenong, Melbourne Australia. I dont know why I typed that,
but I thought someone might give a shit!

I would love to talk about my history, but I dont have the time right
now.

I will just say this....I'm now 30, I have a great job, the most amazing
wife, and three of the worlds most adorable kiddies. LIFE IS GOOD.

Life has always been good, even though I thought it was bad while I was
at school. The secret to being happy with yourself is to surround
yourself with what matters. WHAT MATTERS TO YOU!

Jim's music has always meant a great deal to me, It's the only music I
can never get sick of. I think this is because it always sounds new.

I've raved on a bit too much I think.....
I'll piss off now and let you read some interesting stuff now.

Love Pobbie........

I still am shunned...

Posted by Psycho on October 27, 1999 at 12:30:30:

...because I still am in high school. I am fully aware of the fact that
i don't fit in. I don't dress normally, my hair is longer than normal, I
don't have normal interests, I don't behave normally and most of all I
don't listen to normal music. I have heard many people say that I am
very intelligent, still I am often made fun of in the street. I
generally considered to be a losere and I honestly can't remember
exactly when the last time I had a girlfriend was. But I really don't
care. I'm a misfit and i'm proud of it, I don't just want to be another
idiot in the crowd that just does whatever the latest fasion tells them
to. And actually the whole world depends on us misfits and it always
has. Just think about it: would there be any progress if everybody just
folowed everybody else? Would anything in in this world ever change if
somebody didn't stand up and shout "this is all wrong, let's do
something about it"? Would there have been a French revolution or an
American fight for independence? Would there have been any inventions to
change our life to the better? HELL NO!
So to all you popular wise asses with the good looks and the many girls
I say: if it hadn't been for someone like us, there wouldn't have been a
convertible for you to drive, no mobile for you to talk on and no fancy
suits for you to wear. You owe all that you are to us...

Wanna hear my point of view on the subject?

Posted by Russell on October 27, 1999 at 04:12:02:

If the idea is Jim's music appeals to those of us not in with the
in-crowd, you're absolutely correct. If you say that he connects with
those of us that have rejected the hip-hop, alternative, gangsta-rap,
MTV, ghetto-blasting, one-teen-idol-after-another,image-is-everything,
car-stereo-blaring-too-much-damn-bass bullshit of the last twenty years,
I agree 100%

I thought I was fucked up. I agree with Lisa. I'm 30--a couple of years
ago I went to my high school reunion. The most interesting people now
were dweebs back then. All the popular kids were full off hot air and
BS. I have stories to tell. The ones that made it in life weren't the
popular kids--many of them were dead or dying in their own self-created
hells. And you know why this happened? Because they bought the BS--they
thought school was real life and treated everything afterward as such,
and it bit them in the ass.

Those of us that were outcasts in school get Jim's music because HE was
an outcast in school. We, Jim and us, we all had this intangible quality
of feeling too strong, of thinking for ourselves, and not buying the
crap the convenient world handed to us. I call this quality a soul, and
I truly do not think every one of us has one.

You know the old Lou Reed lyric?
ANYONE WHO'S EVER HAD A HEART,
THEY WOULDN'T HAVE THE HEART TO BREAK IT
He didn't write that for the people just bouncing along in life, not
thinking about anything until time catches up to them an bites them in
the ass. We, the outcasts, are the blessed and sometimes damned ones
with souls--the shiny happy people were never cursed with them.

Anyway, that's my point of view

We were...

I jump on the bandwagon, too... I just wonder WHAT IS IN JIM'S MUSIC
THAT ATTRACTS US but not those popular and always happy people...what
exactly is it?
------------------------------------------------------------

Re: We were...

Posted by Lisa on October 26, 1999 at 12:05:29:

I think it's because he's always writing about people who don't fit in.
About people who have a hard time trusting others because they've been
stepped on one too many times. I'm not saying that popular people are
happy and well-adjusted but maybe we were a little more emotionaly
wounded than most people. Popular people try to be something they're not
just to please everyone else and we can't do that. We realize that we
have to be who we are and that can get us into trouble. :-)

Yeah, I feel that too

Posted by Mr PC on October 26, 1999 at 01:25:36:

I have always been laughed at, and been pushed around because of my
height. I'm over 2 meters tal (don't know how much feet, but it must be
6'+) and for that reason some people would think it was necsesary (?) to
give me a hard time. At first I was reacting to it in a stupid way, but
now I stay cool and think: whatever you wish for me to have - as far as
I'm concerned you can have it twice. And it works. I've build up a 'fuck
you' mentality to all those shitheads out there, and since then
everything was okay (or did they really grow up?)
And I think some of Jimmy's music helped me along the way. I mean, for
me the most anger relieving song is Life Is A Lemon...

Well, first of all, Happy Birthday, man!

I know you've probably read 50,000 msgs already with this stated in

describe the influence you've had on me. You're as much of an idol to me
as I understand that Phil Spector is to you. For ears I've been writing
songs and lyrics and trying to connive my friends to a band to perform
them. And finally, it looks like that may be around the corner. I'm also
working on a movie script, although I doubt it will ever be produced,
number One because I demand so much creative control, and Two, because
it would cost more than the national debt in terms of effects and
post-production.

I'd love to work with you someday. Your work, as I said, has been an
inspiration to me both technically and personally. Upon listening to one
of my computer-rendered scores (I have difficulty playing the
instruments myself, in this case its piano), one of my friends stated
simply: "I don't know. It sounds like a Meat Loaf song, or something." I
was thrilled, but I don't think she thought I'd take that as a deeply
heartfelt compliment... But I did.

My address is 1820 Conservative Road, in New Albany, Indiana, 47150. My
email address (if you ever do 'get wired') is subg3n1us@earthlink.net.
Write me back, I'd love to actually speak with you someday.

Thanks for all the great songs, Jim, and have a great birthday. :-)

Hi Jim! Hi everyone!

This is my first post to this board, although I've been lurking here for
months. I usually think that I have nothing intelligent to add to what
others have already said, so I thought I'd take the chance to prove
myself right and repeat what so many have said already:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIM!!!

Your music has touched so many lives, not just mine and everyone else
who posts or lurks on this board but all the people around us as well,
the people who would have to live with us and our miserable incomplete
lives if it wasn't for your music. If I can bring people half as much
pleasure as you do and have just a fraction of your talent, I'll be a
happy woman. I'm not expressing myself very well here, I usually don't.
That's one of the reasons I love your music so much - everything you
write is so true, I've felt so much of it, but I could never put it into
words. You do, and you do it perfectly. Your songs are music's saviour
in a world where a repeated four bar "tune" on a keyboard accompanied by
an uninventive drumbeat and some bimbo warbling the same phrase over and
over again can get to number 1.

I hope you get everything you deserve...and more.

Best wishes for your birthday and the rest of eternity,
Charlotte.

Bat out of Hell 2 was incredible and I loved every song until I got Bad
For Good and found out some were already done better there. Last week my
father let me use his credit card to order Pandora's Box and Whistle
Down the Wind as a reward for getting good grades this first quarter.
Now I wait for the mailman so anxiuosly everyday!

You really are different and special. Sometimes I just stop and wonder
what the last 2 years would have been like for me without these songs. I
mean really, what would I have done intead during the times I needed
that music more than I needed air? How different would I be thinking
right now if I hadn't heard your words? Who would I be? You might not
realize it, but you're definitly shaping people, and I beleive for the
better.

I beleive in fate. I think I was supposed to find these songs. I think
you were born to write them. You'll never know the full impact of what
you've done, how you've echoed out over the air waves and changed lives.
It seems so few will ever be able to say thank you and even then, that's
just words. I wish there was something better I could do, something more
real and tangeable to give you back in return for what I've taken from
you.

But, at last, there's not. So, I'll just say happy birthday and that
you've been very generous to us all. It must be hell to write the kind
of songs you do. I honestly think the gods really do come down here just
to sing for you and I hope your reward is being able to fly away, alone,
on that meleody, without pain or fear, just like the angel I know you
are.

I love you Jim! Happy birthday and happy halloween too!

love,
Caitlyn Root

Happy birthday Jim,

I refrained from posting a message 'til the last minute in hope that i
could come up with something poetic but to no avail.

But if I did think of something intelligent to say, it would no doubt
include my ongoing thanks and appreciation for always being there for me
(& friends) at all the right times since I first heard "the sound" back
in '78, and for making a colourful life just that little bit more
understandable. Thanks doesn't quite cover it but I reckon you know what
I mean.

So keeping it short, I really hope you have a wonderful day and keep
doing what you do, just the way you've always done it. Don't let the
bastards change you.

Still flying the flag down under.

Love ya heaps,

Hey man!

My parents are always telling me how I was concieved while your songs
(Meat Loaf) were playing. Since you're kinda responsible for my
birthday, it's strange that I came to the website on the eve of yours!

Happy birthday! Make more music, make the world happy. Who knows there
might be a brother or sister in it for me! I'll pass on making kids of
my own to your stuff for now (I'm only 16) but who knows, maybe someday!

Have a fun day. Hope your cake it good!

Happy Birthday To Jim!

Posted by Susan on October 31, 1999 at 17:37:23:

Happy Birthday to the man who has enriched all of our lives with his
wonderfully bombastic, over the top music, and his haunting, touching
lyrics. From the original Bat Out Of Hell through the Tanz der Vampire
songs you have given us some of the most beautiful, touching, and
haunting music ever written.

The world is a much better place because of you and the music you have
written. Your legacy will speak to generations to come and will serve as
a reminder that youth is to be celebrated, love is not something you
take lightly but enter into with all your heart and soul, and that the
only way to live is at the extreme, for unless you are willing to risk
it all, you are never really alive.

May this coming year bring you all the success you so richly deserve.

Best wishes to Jim,
Susan

HI, HAPPY BIRTHDAY

HI, HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

I LOVE YOUR MUSIC. WITHOUT IT, MY FAVORITE SINGER, MEAT LOAF, WOULD BE A NOBODY. I WAS SORRY TO NOT SEE OR HEAR YOU ON THE VH1 STORYTELLER SHOW. IMHO, MEAT LOAF SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN ALLOWED TO DO A SHOW LIKE THAT WITHOUT YOU. IT'S A BIG MISREPRESNTATION AND AS AN ASPIRING SONGWRITER MYSELF, I THINK IT'S CRUMMY TO PASS OFF SOMEONE ELSE'S WORK AS YOUR OWN.
THERE IS EVEN A PART OF THE CD WHERE HE SAYS TO THE GIRL IN THE AUDIENCE "THAT'S WHAT I WAS THINKING WHEN I WROTE IT".

WELL, WHAT I WAS THINKING WHEN I HEARD IT WAS, HEY! YOU DIDN'T WRITE IT! SHOW OFF! HE SHOULD BE SATISFIED HAVING ONE OF THE BEST ROCK VOICES AND BEING AN EXCELLENT SHOWMAN.

LET'S FACE IT, ANYONE THAT LIKES MEAT LOAF AND KNOWS HIS PERSONALITY KNOWS HE'S NOT THE TYPE TO WRITE : LOVE IS OFTEN A DRUG, LOVE IS OFTEN A CRUTCH. FOR GRIPES SAKE, HE'S A GREAT GUY BUT, THOSE ARE NOT HIS TYPE OF WORDS.

WELL, IT'S ALWAYS THE MAN BACKSTAGE THAT FASCINATES ME. THE PRODUCERS, WRITERS, DIRECTORS. YOU!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIM STEINMAN. KEEP THE SONGS COMING. WE'RE READY FOR ANOTHER ANYTHING FOR LOVE ON THE RADIO.

BE WONDERFUL,
ERICA

Wow, what a guy!

Posted by Carol Strauss on November 01, 1999 at 11:23:27:

Where are all the guys like you in real life?

Why are all the guys I meet so lifeless and dull?

Why don't any of the men I know think like you?

They are dull and you are passion.

You are alive and they are stillborn.

They are rational and you are emotional.

You thrill me and they bore me.

Happy birthday, you're the type of man every woman would desire and
other men must envy.

Thanks for the music, the philosophies, the dreams and the hope.

Yours eternally,

Posted by Markus on November 01, 1999 at 11:47:30:

Hi Carol!
YES, he is that guy you describe.
But I am really sorry for you. It is like Todd Rundgren said in his
song: "How can I change the world if I cant change myself...!?"
Maybe you are not much differnt to the men you met in your life. Your
words sound to me like: HEY PEOPLE! ENTERTAIN ME!!! Okay, I may be
wrong. But on the other side I think you should try another search
technique to find a guy that makes you happy. :)
And you should realize that the world would be less happy if everyone
were like Jim Steinman. Oh my god! What a horrorvision: All flowers look
identical, all birds sound identical, all men look like Jim, like me,
like you...

HEY JIM!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH ALL THE WOMEN OUT THERE!? LOL KEEP ON DOING THIS FAMOUS WORK FOR ALL OUR PLEASURE! (I hope it is yours too.)

Once again and for the last time in 1999:

Happy Birthday!!!!!

Markus.

I'm Martin/16 and I wanna take this chance to thank you for all.
Please go on and fill our heart with your grandiosely songs.
At the moment I hear the song Objects in the rear view mirror may appear
closer than they are.
It's a wonderful song with much love and sentiment.
For this time
Much regards

Happy Birthday, Jim.
My maternal grandmother has this birthday, as well, she lived well into

I don't 'really' KNOW who you are, but have a wonderful birthday,
millenium, year. I am desperately trying to figure out if I missed Meat
Loaf's tour or if he is, indeed, on one now(?)

Jim's Birthday Horoscope and all things Scorpio :-)

Posted by Lisa on November 01, 1999 at 15:58:07:

Your horoscope for
November 1, 1999
Born on November 1:
Take a progressive position in all that you do this year and you will be
heard. Your mind is moving a mile a minute, and it's important that you
document all of your ideas for later use. If you take the time to get to
know some of the new people that come into your life, you won't be let
down.
Your numbers: 7, 18, 21, 24, 39, 43

Your intuition is particularly strong this Monday and can guide you
accurately in making forecasts or decisions. In the past, you
experienced life mostly through your emotions and how you "feel" about
someone or something. From this time forward, you will find yourself
expressing a more confident, outgoing attitude, for you have brought to
a close a time of inward examination and learning. There is a growing
sense of direction and self-worth that will find you reaching out and
establishing yourself. In the business world you may enjoy a bit of
competition with a co-worker. You learn new ways to cooperate and merge
your talents with others. Close relationships become a focus for much of
your energy this evening. Enjoy the celebrations!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

November 1st,the day of onslaught

Those born on November 1 give their undivided energy to endeavors in
which they are involved. There is an undeniable attraction to danger for
those born on this day. Not only do November 1 people seek it out, but
it can also come up behind them, often catching them unawares. For those
born on this day, excitement in their profession is a prerequisite. They
must have a certain amount of stimulating activities on the job, or they
will feel dissatisfied and unfulfilled.

The aggressive elements of the November 1 personality find easy
expression. In general, others are rarely offended by a November 1
person's forceful attitude, since those born on this day usually present
themselves in a straightforward, guileless fashion. Honesty in general
comes naturally to November 1 people, but they are also capable of
hiding very complex covert activities as well. Therefore, they gladly
show a great deal of themselves to the outside world, but by no means
show everything.

November 1 people display immense self-confidence but their disregard
for danger can place them in harm's way. They can also have a tendency
to underrate their adversaries and brush off those who would warn them
to be guarded. November 1 people must not only learn to be more
realistic in sizing up the opposition but also should try to view life
in general with a more coldly objective eye. Sooner or later they must
learn to listen to the advice of others and to take it to heart.

November 1 people are happiest when they are in the attack mode of their
chosen field of endeavor. Whether it is going at a stack of paperwork,
an instrument, their opponent or team in a sports event or pursuing a
love interest, they are difficult to stop. Their mode of operation is
generally more in the nature of a blitz rather than a careful probe or
limited strike. The all out nature of what they do makes them forces to
be reckoned with, but at the same time, they can leave their defenses
open to counter strikes.

Those born on this day usually have excellent, even brilliant insight
into technical matters as well as into people, but rarely into
themselves. They need to spend a considerable amount of time getting to
know the deeper aspects of their own nature. They always benefit from
adopting more defensive or guarded orientations. Good common sense
generally keeps them safe on their chosen paths.

Numbers and Planets

Those born on the 1st of the month are ruled by the number 1 and by the
Sun. People born on the 1st like to be first. Those ruled by the number
1 are typically individual, highly opinionated, and eager to rise to the
top. November 1 people usually have the stamina and concentration to
hang in there, but can experience frustrations. The Sun symbolizes
strong creative energy and fire, which is best kept flowing steadily
rather than allowed to sporadically flare out of control. Coupled with
Pluto and Mars (ruler and co-ruler of Scorpio), the Sun's influence can
lead November 1 people to be rash and sometimes destructive, especially
towards themselves.

Tarot Card

The 1st card of the Major Arcana is The Magician, who symbolizes
intellect, communication, information, as well as magic. Over his head
is an infinity symbol, which in some Tarot decks takes the form of a
hat, in others a halo. Many interpretations may be drawn, one of which
is the Magician recognizes the cyclical and unending nature of life and
is empowered by this understanding. The positive traits of this card are
diplomatic skills and shrewdness but, negatively, a lack of scruples and
opportunism. The choice rests with the November 1 person whether to take
up with superficial and destructive impulses or to develop more
far-reaching influences and deeper personal goals.

Health

November 1 people need vigorous physical exercise to release stress and
energy. Competitive games and sports are highly recommended for these
hard driving people. Martial Arts are also especially attractive to the
November 1st personality, but should be practiced with great care and
restraint. As far as diet is concerned, November 1 people are less
fastidious and may resist disciplined eating habits. Alcohol consumption
should be strictly limited.

Learn to protect yourself in daily life. Remain focused on the vanguard,
but don't forget your rearguard. Get to know yourself better.

Scorpion, the intense, emotional and possessive. You tend to overwork,
you seek perfection, have tremendous staying power and will see any
matter through to the bitter end, regardless of sacrifice.

You despise weakness in yourself or others. You are, on the other hand,
generous and compassionate and will fight for the underdog an
compassionate and will fight for the underdog and believe in expressing
yourself with unfiltered truthfulness. You are highly secretive and
extremely int

You are a loyal friend or a vehement enemy. You are powerful and intense
where feelings are concerned. You have the ability to poison yourself
through your own emotional vindictiveness. You have a strong

rapidly and begin the whole process again.

You do not try to attract attention by your appearance, however you do
like good clothes and are careful about the way you look. You choose

The Game of Love...
The Scorpio Male...
When it comes to lovemaking you are capable of attaining the highest
level of passion. You are persuasive and will not admit defeat once you
have your mind fixed on a particular female. You prefer to control your
mates' emotions.

Like everything else, you always give one hundred percent and of course
you expect the same in return. To you sex is a competitive game, and
revenge and jealousy are two of your characteristics that will surface
if you aren't winning.

The Scorpio Female
You have no trouble attracting men. You dress for your mate and will use
your seductive, hypnotic eyes to dazzle and captivate your chosen

be explosive.

You are extremely demanding when it comes to the art of making love and

SCORPIO & SCORPIO: Sexually compatible but suspicion will be a problem
SCORPIO & SAGITTARIUS: This alliance is a waste of time for both parties.
SCORPIO & CAPRICORN: Mentally and physically you match up well
SCORPIO & AQUARIUS: Why bother. Your values and lifestyle are too
different. (guess that rules me out. Oh well,we can still be friends, right? :-) )
SCORPIO & PISCES: This is not bad. Truly an erotic sexual combination.

Happy Birthday from the United States of the Lower Countries (The
Netherlands).

As a Dutch Steinmaniac I'm looking forward to your new projects in the
next year(s).

Furthermore I like to thank you for the music you have given us. The
'Bat'-albums still are a monumental for me and 'Tanz der Vampire' is
completely unique.

Please share your ginius with all your fans.

Have a nice day.
