you

I am a fiveteen year old poet s from Liverpool , You and Meat loaf are the ones to thank for all the inspiration given to me one day I hope to make my poems into lyrics too and find a voice that can make them truely come alive . Thankyou Jimmy , you are my hero .

Wait'll they getta'load of me

Posted by Karl John Krumrey IV on December 22, 1998 at 07:32:08:
I have been practicing 'A Kiss is a Terrible Thing to Waste' day in and day out and I think I do a pretty damn good job on it, considering my somewhat limited vocal range. Lord knows I sing it better than Meat. I know that sounds arrogant.. but what can ya do, eh? Maybe one day Jimmy'll discover me.. for our high school's talent show I plan on doing 'A Kiss' or 'Unsettled Scores'.. both of which I have grown pretty proficent at..

The old band and a new voice

Posted by Joerg Bindschus on December 22, 1998 at 05:56:50:
Hi.

A new voice that fits the to music like MLīs did back in ī77 is whatīs missing. The old studio-band with a new voice would be a breath of fresh air. Then work with an orchestra! The WDTW and Vampire songs proove thet itīs much better than synthies.

And make it an all-Jim Album!

Joerg

Scarpia

Jim should really do Bat out of Hell 3 (or Bad for Good

2) with Scarpia. Meat's voice is shot.

Of course a group like Pandora's Box would be nice too.

Brian May

Brian May keeps the spirit of Queen alive and I always found that Queen and Jim were two of a kind. It was Brian's song "We will rock you" that inspired Jim to that section in "Original Sin".

Yes, and "Knoblauch" ("Garlic") on the "Vampires" cd is a rip-off of Queen's "Mustapha." I wish Jim would write some new music...once in a while...so many people would kill to be in his position and he just pisses it all away..."If only, if only it were so..."

and I mean REALLY gotta work with...

Axl Rose and Cher. Now that would be a duet!

Aerosmith would be fitting that, too.

I agree with all three. Aerosmith and Cher in particular - how about a duet?? I'll throw in a couple of unexpected ones here and all worthy of a mention - Jon Bon Jovi, Alice Cooper, Natalie Imbruglia and Everclear. Plus some more songs with Tina Arena and Tom Jones. And Jim, you've really gotta check out two big Oz groups; Powderfinger and The Superjesus - they would kick with a couple of good rock ballads - the guy's voice in Powderfinger just makes you melt, and the female lead vocalist in Superjesus makes Karla DeVito sound like a virgin - strums a damn mean guitar too.

Here's a list...

Posted by Joanne on December 18, 1998 at 09:36:34:
I highly recommend the Flys, Cake, or even RAMMSTEIN! :-) Also, I have a list of people who would DEFINITELY bring you down...

1.) Jewel, because...DAMN

2.) Mariah Carey

3.) N'SYNC (or as I like to call them, "N'STYNC.")

4.) Alanis Morissette

5.) Lenny Kravitz

6.) Billy Ray Cyrus (or, come to think of it, any true country artist, for that matter.)

Thanks Jim, for being like a 2nd father to me through the advice in your music...

Joanne

First off, Jim Steinman music sounds utterly fantastic, above everything else, no matter WHO he works with, be it Barry Manilow, Air Supply, (ugh) Meat Loaf, etc, etc.. That being said, I am extremely disappointed that he doesn't choose to focus his efforts towards someone who is MARKETABLE and who has IMAGE and all-around coolness so he would be popular with adolescents, people around my age. (18). I am so sick of hearing the judgemental, close minded teen world dismiss Steinman whenever I mention Meat Loaf or Celine Dion. These people have good voices.. (well, Celine anyways) but do not reach the general music-listening public. Steinman works with dorks, period, and I don't know why. If you can't beat em, Join em, I always say, and if he worked with a cool rock band with an image that would attract the teenage crowd, I highly doubt he would have to compromise his musical wishes. Hint: NO HAS BEENS!.. NEW BLOOD, yes, please dear god.. this is my one wish.

Well, that and for him to privatley work with me for a completly fantastic recording of 'A Kiss is a Terrible Thing to Waste'.

I know why Jim won't work with cool people. It's because he's an insecure worm whose creative "vision" won't stand up to scrutiny or questioning from anyone else. He cannot work with anyone with a brain or an idea of their own - he's too insecure. He's a lost cause. Too bad.

I've removed my foot from the monitor now. Jim a has-been? Man, I'd love to be a has-been with two killer stage productions and the UK single of the year. And lest we forget the timeless BOOH which is still selling more 20 years on than half the new cool groups. NMW must have really had some appeal with the British Pensioner League.

That's a pretty harsh judgement there.. could it be that he would rather not compromise himself just to make a buck? I think we need more people like that in the music industry.

STEVEN!!!!

Jim Steinman,

You really have to work with Steven Spielberg, making

a musical-film version of WHISTLE DOWN THE WIND!!!

With some great actors and actresses who can sing!

And you should also work with me of course!

If it makes me happy...

Posted by WILLY on December 17, 1998 at 20:59:04:
Seriously, I think you are an excellet judge. You always get the best out of who ever you are working with.

I think no one has failed in performing your work.

But you should try to work with Bruce Springsteen, Jarvis Cocker, Tori Amos, maybe the Bee Gees (so G. can

be absolutely happy) and maybe again Def Leppard so I can be absolutely happy).

Maybe he could work with both of you. T. can write something cool, Jim can produce it, and a certain young lady can make sure Jim is happy while in town. *wink, wink, nudge, nudge*

Seriously, Jim, You've got a lot of talent floating around on that fan list of yours; T, Ravnen, and Woodriver are excellent places to start looking.

Dream more,

G. Matthew

PS: Have the Bee-Gees write a dance tune and you produce it. Or see what Dream Theater is doing.

Speaking of Talent, my renditions of Unsettled Scores and A Kiss are coming along great.. I just wish I could unify about 90 people so I could get a REAL production of it this year at the talent show.. guess I'll just have to settle for a voice-removed tape. :(

As goes for the wink..."I can do that"!!!

(And maybe even pitch some nice notes while doing

it! I'm a girl of many talents.... :)

Sorry, just had to....
