So much of all all humour (or humor) just isn't funny. Bad humor is not specific to a continent or country.
I was in London over the summer, and managed to check out the Queen musical, which is quite possibly the LEAST funny thing I've ever seen in my entire life, but it had the audience in stitches. So dumb, but I'm sure certain American audiences would have reacted the same.
The difference between bad American humor and bad British/French/German/etc. humor is that almost ALL American humor gets exported, whether it's shit shit shit or the funniest fucking thing on the planet. If a movie comes out in England and tanks, however, you aren't going to see it playing in a cinema in Hong Kong anytime soon.
