I hear that the new West End stage version of Bat will be based on Peter Pan. It will be great if it succeeds because Peter Pan is a story that is close to Jim's heart. The Bat Out Of Hell songs were originally written for a production called Neverland. I doubt that Jim's Peter Pan will have much in common with the Disney version. Bat fans are not going to pay to see a young guy wearing green tights and speaking with a high pitched voice. I imagine that Jim's Peter will be more like James Dean in Rebel Without A Cause. Wearing a red leather jacket and jeans instead of green tights. Perhaps he won't be able to fly unless he is on his magical Harley. Wendy might be like Natalie Wood. Tinkerbelle like Sal Mineo. I know from Jim's internet writings that the story will be set in post-Apocalyptic New York. Jim calls it Obsidian. To me, that is genius. The set will be wonderful. I hope they copy the Bat 2 cover for the set. I want to see the giant bat perched on the Chrysler building (the most charismatic building in the world). Someone posted something today about Jim's creativity drying up. But he is doing a wonderful show. It's just that his creativity is taking him in a different direction. | |
