I don't see Jim participating with "new" (to us) material so it probably stuff already substantially done. They will probably see how many songs they can come to agreement with Jim about to know how many songs are needed to complete it. After what Desmond did, I have to believe that Jim will not have his songs entirely in someone else's hands again. Meat made his last album using the web and flash drives to have the various participants add their parts so Jim could probably work from home on songs he's already tinkered with or done demos on. They could really do a whole album like this if Jim had the material. If this works out.. who knows? I think Meat hates the studio for long and Rob Cavallo got good vocals out of him quickly enough. Jim on the other hand takes his time. This way Jim could send material for Meat to work on with Cavallo or Crook then they could send it to Jim for final "executive producer" approval and touch ups. At their ages and health statuses I do not think Jim or Meat can devote a year or more to another album. they need to just make it. It will be just as good IMO, by not spending days going over minor stuff. Just having it would be perfection enough. | |
