Meat and Bob Seger were friends around that time and I think Meat wrote more than we think in the title song MATLAF as there is that one great line SILVER BULLETS IN THE JUKE BOX a clear reference to Bob Seger and the silver bullet band. I also think Meat was trying to go for a southern rock feel to his songs. Gary Rossington played on MATLAF and Tom Dowd produced. Both had ties to southern rock at the time. I really believe that Meat felt he and Jim were quits for good and was moving in a new direction, much like he did after BAT 3 > | |
