| I waited until the official release before I listened to any of it because I know those snippets on iTunes and alike are never good and I didn't want to draw my opinion from that. Plus in reality we already knew the core of the songs. I bought the cd so I could blast it out in my car. So yeserday morning on my way to work I bought it with a pack of tissues in preparation for the blood dripping out of my ears because I was going to crank it upto 11. However it wasn't my ears the tissues were used on but my eyes! Who needs the young - put a massive smile on my face! Its completely bonkers. My girlfriends face when I played her this was a complete picture. I think she thought it was a piss take until the final line ' learning to die' and the laaaa laaaa laaaa.......she said the person who wrote that has issues. pmsl Going all the way and more - well....... When the 'TOP GUN' guitar opened up I got a lump in my throat. I have no idea why and I couldn't control it. Then when meat started I welled up. WTF??? And when Karla started belting out, I was gone! This is a mother fucker of a song!! it has so many twists and turns. I like it a lot. There is nothing like this about!!! It's never the same song. Tongues - my girlfriend is not a meat loaf fan! She rolls her eyes when I put him on and these last 2 days have been quite a test of our relationship! Lol BUT she does like this song, I think it's quite easy listening and meat sounds pretty good on this. She did say 'an erection of the heart? Who does that?' Jim steinman, love!! That's it. i haven't moved past tongues. But I'm happy with these 3 for now. I love it so far. Jim was right about meats ravaged voice and I suppose it could be bit of a surprise to hear him like this for some people. But I think meat is 1 who would never give up. And I could imagine him like a wounded soldier on a battle field dragging himself with his bare hands trying to get to the fight and BE HEARD!!!! | |
