| Hi, about the Bad For Good album, the tracks of discussion, "Lost Boys and Golden Girls" and "Surf's Up", I do not have the ability to buy the tunes right now not just for financial reasons but logistically.....emusic does not have the album, Real Music Store does have "Lost Boys and Golden Girls" but not "Surf's Up" available for download....their sound quality is really awful, for an inexplicable reason, I might add.....and I have not checked itunes but have no funds to apply for that now. But there is, ta-da! The Amazon Sampler! (for now). There are a few ways I wanted to go about this, and I still hope to meet my goal of detailing changes in vocals and such wherever if-ever that applies, (it has occurred to me that the tracks would likely had been recorded with different vocals at various stages of production, and the liner notes could have gotten mixed up with the mixes themselves, where Jim decided he was going to do the vocals despite not planning to at first and such like that. If I remembered what he said on this topic more clearly I'd give a quote, but I just have these thoughts left from discussion had twenty effin years ago. Deep breath.) Ideally, if I had the CD I could mix the tracks into a randomized mp3 which would show the various sameness of the vocal in all the tracks on the album, but I don't have that ability. I tried the next best thing. The Amazon Sampler does this in a sense and you can click with your mouse to switch back and forth between this and that song or spoken word.....and find the fact that his voice permeates the entire album, including "Lost Boys and Golden Girls" and "Surf's Up". I tried to make a wav file of a demo but my software and hardware config did not speak well enough to each other for the attempt. So, at least for now, refresh your memory of the high tones of this baritone tenor when he sang on the album "Bad For Good" by Clicking This Link And you could, also, search Amazon for steinman, click on the Bad For Good item, click on sampler, and have the same thing. All the best wishes...... | |
