Negotiation?? I love how you simplify things to negotiations, but clearly, you know that a better way to bring about a negotiation is to ring someone up on the phone! Suppose that it was for negotiation, though, how was that supposed to have been do you think, that the U.S. Trademark Office was working their own set of issues, and without any additional litigation, that could have been a negotiation, but it clearly was not headed to that direction. It was strange...as we watched it being strange...and then, from some other place, even some other lawyers, came this big negotiation whammy. Hell of a ringer on that phone, huh?

As far as what it accomplished: getting Jim's name spread all around the media as a bad boy, and not by any particular action he did, but by virtue (NOT) of this lawsuit that said he was being a bad boy. Yeah, some people use lawsuits that way, and maybe Meat did pay the 300+ per hour to do that? Or, the lawsuit put a gag in Jim's mouth about what he could and could not say about the album that Meat went ahead to do without him? And maybe Meat paid 300+ per hour to do that. Or, a couple of nebbish-skite attorneys decided they had a way to get themselves back on their feet. And Meat maybe didn't pay 300+ per hour to do that. Meat would do anything for law but he won't do that?
