Her movements so fluid, it is wonderful watching. The male dancer is probably just as good, but more than that to me, is that he physically (hair style, darkness of eyes, darkness of hair) resembled/resembles the boyfriend that I had at the time, and the thing that I don't easily get past ("fan fiction" warning) is the way the dances of this performance and also of the Bad For Good video portray the power-struggle domination that I was subject to with said boyfriend. There was no lack of connection, as this particular boyfriend is the first source I heard of Jim's drumming activiies at the time, the second source I heard of Jim's family origin (the first source having been Jim), the first source of the idea that people I knew, knew Jim, and the second source of threats being issued for my interest in Jim. So, there was alot going on. I watch this dancer, the male, and I watch the female dancer and I read the story....this is Modern Dance, which is a dance portrayal of a dramatic structure/story....and it gives me a lot of insight into not just what I was going through, but what Jim knew of what I was going through at that time. I tend to go through various thoughts and emotions over this consequentially. That relationship, for lack of a better word spanned four years from 1977 when the Bat Out Of Hell album first came out, until January 1982. Meanwhile, this boyfriend and his friends controlled what music I was to listen to and what concerts I would attend, most of the time. What I like about the German TV performance is that it is Jim's live performance in front of an audience in part of the choreography which is more involved than that of the video. And (second "fan fiction" alert) the gap between his teeth here is caused by theatrical tape/enamel applied to the teeth. FYI. | |
