And if I have, it's never been that convincing. A lot's changed in 5 years, viruses and things getting more out of control? I dunno. I've never had a problem in all that time. Problem is, the hacker changed my user and password and other details, so I can't even get in there to delete the account. I've had to mediate from another address and Yahoo, typically, are being completely and totally useless. Not surprising...
The police are just as bad where I live. The police commissioner took a trip to my city and she said, "I'd feel safe walking these streets on a Saturday night." A friend of mine looks her right in the eye and says "care for a walk on Saturday then?" She turned away, blushing and embarrassed, the people around her trying to change topic as soon as possible.
For instance, neighborly disturbances, people throwing bricks on people's roofs and terrorizing the neighborhood, frightening children half to death and being loud into 2 o'clock in the morning. People call police and they're just too under-staffed. It's totally ridiculous. You realize how much of a cynical viewpoint you can take with the world you live in, but you just can't. Especially with the rising price of petrol, how expensive it is to run a car (I use public transport so it doesn't affect me personally), the cost of houses these days, the cost of rent, it's too outrageous. But you have to think positive or else you'll be a withered, decrepit sad old grandpa.
