Along with the English "Garbo" demos which I've been told exist? I'd LOVE to hear those too.
I'd say demos for the entire score would exist in some form, right? Even if it's Steinman himself singing them.
Also, what's the story with the so-called "UK Demos":- "There's Never Been A Night Like This" and "Invitation To The Ball"? Who is singing on those tracks? They don't have any fancy Steinman "production", just piano and vocals. The way they're done makes me think that the whole score (up to that point) was demo'd in this fashion. It wouldn't surprise me.
On Steinman demos in general, how do you think the earlier ones like "Who'd do the Dirty?" were recorded? There was no computerized audio technology in the 70s so you couldn't have layered it all nicely and created lots of harmony. Did Steinman just rent out a studio? Were the piano and vocals recorded at the same time?
Also, how come the Druids version of "Rainbow" sounds like a full-production that could have been an obscure hit in the early 70s? And what is "Instrumental" exactly?
How come "The Dream Engine" 1970 demos weren't posted with the 1969 libretto & CD?
The same goes with the "City Night" and "Who Needs the Young" demos with Steinman on vocals. What's the story with those?
And what's "Alive and Kicking"? A so-called song that's sheet-music estimates a number of 6 pages...
SO MANY QUESTIONS! And most of them we'll probably never know
