Black Friday is a sale the day after Thanksgiving intended to encourage people to start the Christmas shopping season, so stores open in the the early AM and sell inventory at ridiculously low prices for that one day. A 900 US dollar High Definition TV can literally end up selling for 150 US dollars. So, you can imagine the pushing, shoving, and madness it causes when customers mob the stores at 4:30 in the morning.
