| Sorry to say it but it's probably what many who bought 3bats are thinking.... If "Overall the presentation is visually thrilling." is the best a publication with a readership sympathetic to Meat's cause can come up with as the conclusion to a review.... .... then it's not a good review! Persoally, I love 3bats beacuse for the first time since the 'man of steel' single B sides you get a true appraisal of what a Meat Loaf live gig is these days. Apart from IACBTMN which seems pretty opbviously dubbed to me - but maybe that IS a true reflection! First noticed it on the 'best of' tour around '99 when he's struggling with 'Is nothing sacred?' then effortlessly handles the key change three quarters of the way through, but he's too knackered to fake it onstage! BTW the version on the 'BBC Comic relief show' is IDENTICAL to the re-recorded (non Rink) UK single release -at least MOST of it was done live during the tour. Kinda takes the piss out of those who say he never lip-synchs though! I'd still rather see a ROCK LEGEND do a ropey 95 per-cent live show than the many 'fashionable' acts of today more or less formation dancing to a yet to be released 'greatest hits' CD! After all, the guy is singing two and a half hours af Steinman mateerial 5 days a week for 18 months at a time!!! I'm sure I read on this site somewhere during the recording of 'original sin' one the girls repeatedly passed-out trying to sing demanding lines in the way Jim wanted. If true, maybe this is why Panora's Box never performed live themselves.... ....apologies for the free-association of topic rambling-I've had a fuckin' smoke or two okay!!!! | |
