I don't know what the arrangement between Jim and Ray actually is. I've never asked. All I know is that there was an issue when Jim wanted to reuse the melody for "Milady" (hence "For Sarah").
Re: "Edging Into Darkness". Well, look at it this way. The first half became the title track on "Bad For Good". The bridge became the chorus to "Bat Out Of Hell" (I don't care what anyone else says. I will demonstrate it if I must) and the rest became "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All". That either would up or lower the chances of "Edging Into Darkness" becoming a hit. Either way, it's pretty interesting. I love "Nocturnally Yours".
