| It's probably well past the listen-online stage but I heard a great interview with Todd Rundgren before Xmas on BBC Radio 6. He was in conversation with Tom Robinson (of '2, 4, 6, 8 Motorway' and 'Glad to be Gay' fame), which was cool as Todd produced one of Tom's albums back in the 70s. It was mainly to do with Todd's new album and his take on 'stadium rock' - he picked all the music which was played in between and dug some real rock dinosaurs out of the mix - but there was brief mention of Jim Steinman. Todd described Jim as a "genius" and seemed willing to launch into a few anedotes, but sadly Tom R steered the conversation away from 'Bat out of Hell' before he could. Some good stuff though and I can't wait to hear Todd's take on the New York Dolls when he produces their comeback album later this year. Also, must give "Arena" a go, as I've been hearing good things about it. Anyone had a listen so far? | |
