| I think that anything entitled BAT OUT OF HELL the musical without a Meatloaf type lead in it is doomed to failure. Jim is a great songwriter in the same league as Dianne Warren --not as prolific-- but could you imagine a Dianne Warren Musical or a Jim Steinman musical retrospective? OUtside of this board not many people know what Steinman has done outside of his work with Meat Loaf and like it or not Jim's music and Meatloaf's thing are symbiotic in their relationship to each other. I know most of you don't give a shit, but there is a guy right here in the U.K who could do the part because he is already doing a cracking Meatloaf show that is more than a tribute. I mention this because I think that if Jim ventures into some Peter Pan nonsense rather than the whole Teen Death Songs of the 50's, Drive in Movies, and motorcyles his show will be an unmitigated FLOP.. | |
