Jim was lip synching on a show where all the artists lip synch.. The problem is that as far as anyone knew all the songs on BFG were sung by Jim... which was dishonest on the labels part. Jim shouldn't have gone along with it, but it isn't the same as lip synching live. Different level of deceit.
