I've had a similar problem when i ordered a 22 disc family guy box set from Amazon.com. Hacking your firmware might be the easiest way. Try to google your dvd player model and 'region free' it's quite possible you'll find the answer on the net.
And if you do, change it to Region 0, which enables the player to play any kind of dvd.
