Alas, poor Ellie! I loved her songs. Heard a great interview with her on Fresh Air yesterday (from 86).
I can thank both Jim and my first BF for introducing me to first Spector and then Ellie. Obviously I tracked down Spector due to Jim, but it was my first BF who had the cast album of a Broadway tribute show to Ellie called "Leader of the Pack." She helped define pop music for the last half of the 20th Century, and deserves all the honor we can heap upon her.
