| Doesn't Steve Margoshes do all the arrangements and sheet music? When you say "newly arranged", does that mean that Steve has changed his own work? Or does it mean that another person has had a go? Further down the page people are complaining that Kasim changed the arrangements for BOOH songs when he was MD for Meat Loaf. Jim posted as "admin" to let us know that Meat insisted on changing the arrangements and that Kasim was actually in favour of keeping the Margoshes versions of BOOH songs. Do fans of Bat want "newly arranged" music? Margoshes is doing new arrangements for the "BOOH The Musical" band but I think that is only because instruments that did not appear on Bat 1 and Bat 2 will be present. I'd bet good money that he will be sticking close to the original feel of his Bat arrangements. Its an interesting point you make about how Jim goes about having his songs transcribed. I always thought that there was a piano and vocal demo first and that the sheet music came before the studio recording. However, I don't know for sure. Perhaps another poster knows and would kindly tell us. Its also interesting when you say: "I am fascinated with inaccuracies and omissions in sheet music and how those inaccuracies and omissions could affect the "posterity" of a song." Gosh. I wonder if old Mozart worried about that. At least Jim has the albums of recorded music to act as a guide as to what the songs are meant to sound like. From what some people are saying in the "Kasim" thread, you won't get that from a Meat Loaf concert (especially not the Melbourne Symphony concert). But at least the original studio recordings can be compared to any sheet music you buy. BTW, you say that the new sheet music is "much improved". Did you find problems with the original sheet music? I own the original sheet music and I would be interested to hear what you have to say about it. > ...
