Peter Gabriel in the past had some of the best lyrics out there and his music has always been cutting edge. Recently his lyrics have been a bit awkward but what a brilliant job he has done on reworking others peoples songs on his latest album. The lyrics of Paul Simon's Boy in the Bubble was totally lost on me but this version is breathtaking in its clarity of the beauty of Simon's words. They had got lost in the infectious beat of the music but what a magic moment when Gabriel sings The way we look to a distant constellation, That's dying in a corner of the sky. I was driving my car on a cold but clear sky night and it just made me think that these two musicians are masters of their craft.
