| I'm sure I read that they had to piece all of his vocals together line by line because he could barely get through a whole verse/chorus/etc. That said, I think I prefer his voice on Deadringer to the way it is now. He does gargle his way through a lot of those songs - icky nasal, congested tone to his voice on that album. Compare that to something like Bat 2 - I think Objects is one of his best vocals ever, along with IDAFL. Though it's not a patch on the auditory horror of the Rockpop Dortmund 82 concert (the one where he also crowd-surfs!). My god, it's absolutely soul-destroying and painful to hear him struggling through that concert, poor guy. > I disagree.
