| This actually really pisses me off how much Meat is dissing Bat 3. Yeah sure it WAS NO Bat album. I ABSOLUTELY agree on that. No Steinman, shouldn't have been a bat. But anyway they went ahead and to me it was always more of a "The Monster is Loose" album. I liked quite a few of the songs. The title track isn't too bad at all. Loved Blind as a Bat, Alive and What about Love, pure Meat Loaf to me and I actually find the excitement and quality of that type of song writing sorely lacking on HCTB having now listened to the songs many times! The Steinman tracks were the worst bits on Bat 3, they sounded like left overs hastily put together. Even Patti's demo of Future is miles better than what they did with it for Christ Sake. I do think it is ridiculous how Meat is slagging the album and producer off so much, that is below the belt in my opinion. The collaborations with other artists (as on HCTB) are terrible ideas and utterly NOT necessary!! Patti is more than enough. One or two duets on one album is way more than enough. I still think HCTB is one of the best produced albums in music history for sound quality, mastering quality and production. A lot of Pro Tools engineering went on here to get things 100% right but the result is great. Having said that I am NOW really re-thinking my thoughts on ALL these songs (except for Prize Fight Lover which is one of the best bits Meat has done in a while ) and if I had to compare the last two albums I am actually preferring Monster believe it or not! > Some quotes: > > And then heads back to one of the favourite rants from our > previous phone exchange.
