| What are the odds he'll play Paradise and Took The Words??? As for songs he hasn't run into the ground, apparently Break It is the only Bat 3 song he's playing on this tour, which is a shame as it's not one of my favorite Stein-songs, period, and his version is even lesser. Four cuts from the new album and Hot Patootie are about the only things he's added, rest is the same Bat 1 and 2 selections he's always played. It really baffles me how little he changes things with each tour. I mean, I get that people like to hear the hits, but why all of them, every single show? And even if he's got the mentality that Bat 1 and 2 are the only albums the bulk of his audience owns, why not pick something else from them? FCOL every now and then, or pretty much anything from the 2nd half of Bat 2? And Bat 3 may not have sold as much as the others, but it's still more successful than his others - one song? he said he loves Blind as a Bat (as do I) and the Steinsongs - why only one? He's also picking, IMO, lousy songs to promote HCTB with. Peace on Earth, Living Outside, Los Angeloser, and Song of Madness would all be in the bottom half of the list if i were to rank the album song for song, yet those are the ones he's playing every night based on setlist.fm. Elvis in Vegas, If I Can't Have You, or Love is Not Real would be far more catchy (especially in a crowd of, by his logic, people who only like Anything For Love and Two out of Three). Hell even California would at least create some curiosity. I've listened to the album a dozen times and I still couldn't hum a note from Living on the Outside... how much good can it possibly do at a concert after he runs through a crowd-pleasing hit? | |
