| Meat constantly seems to slag everything he's done in the past. I guess he does that to justify the promotion of his current material. It does seem crazy considering the amount of effort that must go into recording these albums and doing all these shows. You would have thought he would have more respect for his back catalogue. Then again he is quite an extremist and rather than saying "I don't think these lyrics are as strong as the ones on the new album" he just says they suck and "you are wrong". I think Man of Steel / CHSIB and Did I say that are all three much better songs than anything on HCTB. Parts of Peace on Earth get close to that CHSIB Meat Loafy style in my opinion but the chorus sounds too childish for my liking. Having said that from the bootlegs it seems to sound better live. Always thought the out-written Steinman comment was unnecessary. Without Steinman Nikki Sixx and James Michael wouldn't have come up with those type of songs. Same as the "runaway train" backing vocal bit in "Alive" on Bat3, very much Steinman style but it works I think. > Nicked from another forum.
