I think most people who dont like her actually dont like her fans (and are potentially jealous of her success/mainstream draw).
I personally dont like her regular music, however her acoustic versions of many of her songs (generally her just belting away on the piano) are some of my favorite modern pieces of music. I think she is fantastic.
I strongly recommend listening to anything from her recent Thanksgiving special to get a good taste of what she is capable of.
