| Hello all. I hope no one feels like I'm wasting their time, but there's been a lot of posts about fan art lately so I decided to 'come out' as well. I'd also really appreciate your feedback. The thing is, I've started to write my very first own musical. I have a history of writing music and lyrics but this would be my first long rock-symphonic piece. It's still in a very raw stage, all the names may change, it doesn't have a title yet and so on, but I'd like to share the concept with you and hear what you think of it. It's about a soul (note; not a person of flesh) named Sáwel, his beloved Deore who dies and two of Sáwel's alter egos/sides/whatever named Schier and Yfel. Schier is an asexual, calm, hoping, humble voice of reason, Yfel is a dominant, oversexed, aggressive, vampire-like personification of Sáwel's dark side. The musical is about how Sáwel loses Deore, plunges into insanity, meets, fights and embraces his own self as Schier and Yfel, 'kills' himself, wakes into new life as a different soul and...the ending is a surprise (even to myself atm). I can reveal that it gets a sort of happy twist when Deore turns up in the second act and becomes Sáwel's 'Best Side', so she never really left him. Or something like that. I wanted to write a musical with ALL my favorite themes and wrap them up in one flamboyant production: the battle of good and evil, the anatomy of sanity and soul, romance... a bit of Sweeney Todd, a bit of Jekyll and Hyde and a bit of my beloved Tanz der Vampire. I consider myself as someone who knows the musicals worth knowing around the world, but there's always a chance I've missed something and my hard work might go to waste. I've already written clean half of the first act, so now I'd like to hear from more or less anonymous sources is this worth finishing. My friends have liked the idea and music I've shared with them so far. 1)Does the concept suck? 2)Would you go to see it? 3) Am I just a silly little copycat who thinks she's found something new?
