I imagine it's because "Peter and the Starcatcher" wasn't as dark as Jim's vision, which probably would have worried them. They probably saw that quote back in the day about "J.M. Barrie rolling in his grave" when one of the articles talked about Jim writing a screenplay for "Neverland" which he mentioned while he was promoting "Bad for Good".

There are four young adult prequel novels written
