I was so curious as to what that program actually had Meat talking about. This is the craziest interview I have ever seen. Dave, on that show, or on the BBC, how often are the guests given snacks to fill their mouths with before they are to speak? And how many of the hosts make fun of the guests' names? Okay, funny har har aside, then Meat puts the plate down with the granted permission, and they begin. Meat brought up the name Jim Steinman, not the other way around, That means it is on him to justify why he brought it up. He didn't have to. Dionne Warwick spent many a happy spotlight without mentioning Burt. Somehow Paul McCartney cleared himself of talking about John Lennon-itis. But here it is, Meat brings up Jimmy. Splash image on the screen, younger and better days, could have been a better photo. THIS IS PROMO! HE WANTS TO SELL TICKETS EVEN IF THE SHOW IS SOLD OUT WHY DOES THAT MATTER? Because nothing he said beyond that made any sense. I know that some issues came into discussion by Meat that I am to avoid like the bubonic plague because it would upset someone. So, I won't. I'll just kind of work around it. Let's discuss the values of Meat's reasons. The discography I just looked at is at http://www.meatloaf-oifc.com/meat/disco.htm According to this, there are seven albums before The Monster Is A Bat, which makes a total of eight. Of these eight, Jim's direct (known and popularly accepted) studio involvement was in BOOH, BOOH2, and Dead Ringer. That means that of these seven, four of them were sans Steinman. So, the first question is, what is the fool's rush into a BAT3? That is the first thing. Of course it should have had a different title. Everyone here is in agreement to that. If it had a different title, nobody would be going back and forth with what reasons took place that prevented Jim from being in ths studio for it. And someone really wanted, evidently, to show that there was some kind of impairment in Jimmy's availability. Otherwise, where's the beef? In addition to this, controversy abounded with that lawsuit. Goddammed lawsuit. What that was. Ugh. Now, Jimmy is going on his way as he pleases, and Meat brings up, oh he wants to work with Jimmy again. Okay. If Jimmy wants to work with Meat, then Jimmy can work with Meat, but Jimmy has to be talked to first by Meat. But the lawsuit turned these two guys into opposing legal parties. What a mess. And Meat says that their relationship is good? Good, is if Meat had placed his call to Jimmy, instead of his attorney, and what is all this about an attorney steering the production, anyway? That's the music business in someone's alternate universe, but not necessarily non-existent. Just the shadiest part. Here is the transcript I put together: Meat: It's a little harder, I love guitars, and it was done by Desmond child as opposed to Jim Steinman and Jimmy, and I believe I'm gonna work with Jimmy again, he got sick and I was afraid we we were all going to die, we're gettin old, it was selfish on my part but, I will admit to it, but I just wanted to get it done. Well because Jim Steinman he was going to produce the record, and he got sick and he needed therapy, and he had to get his hands together, he had a couple of little strokes, and so I began to doubt whether he actually could do it, whether he would get well enough to do it, and did I want to sit around for a year and a half, waiting to find out, you know. I'm sitting for a year and a half and I find out in a year and a half no he really still can't do it when I can get it done, so in that regard it was a little selfish on my part..that I moved ahead and didn't really want to sit and wait a year and a half to find out.. Host:So what is the relationship between you now? Meat: It's good..it's very good..I was actually speaking to an attorney...I really want Jim in on this....cause we're talkin about another project it would be a conclusion to the bat out of hell deal not Bat out of hell 4 another title I know some people would argue with me but......I think Jim needs to be....I really want Jim...... The whole project of this Bat3 may have begun by Jim's suggestion, but beyond that it reeks of underpinnings of things not being told. You don't want me saying anything, that's okay. But if you take any of this crapola at face value, it is really silly.
