Many, many thanks. This is to my ears simply an incredible performance. If the quality of the vid and sound are a bit dodgy, so be it, though it would, of course, be wonderful to have something of even better quality.
A friend of mine saw Meat perform in Staten Island some time in the very early days, before he was 'big.' He saw him only by chance, and it was clearly a performance that blew him away. Seeing this video and, more importantly, hearing the force, the passion, in his voice, makes it clear why Jim particularly valued Meat, and how their particular pairing came to possess and be possessed of its extraordinary force.
