Meat, embarking on his large tour, has probably heard to the gils, how strange and odd it is that he has so much paying homage to Steinman in contrast to the lawsuit, and when people see the name they say, "But he had a fight with the songwriter." He probably got sick of hearing that? Let's face it, it looks like pure crap to come out there in public, doing all this stuff that has Steinman's name on it, fully based on works by Steinman up until the last drops of "selfish", and perpetuating the lines "he was sick" "he was sick" "he was sick". In some musical fan's paradise, it could be imagined that the two could reconcile, and what would that mean but that Meat could have his public persona intact, and all the fans would say, "Yay!". Odder things have happened. Whether or not they would reconcile, it won't be through this shallow attempt, and not on the basis of talking to lawyers. After all, I am not aware of any reason why Meat cannot contact Jim directly, even with all this stuff. Life does contain surprises, but this does not look very surprising. I'd be willing with everyone to see what develops, but I know what characteristics that I am looking for. Meanwhile, I'd much rather quote Jim than the Press: From his December 28th blog entry, he writes:
If Meat is going around the UK saying that he and Jim are to be working together again, does that not create the impression that Jim's show includes Meat? And, does that fit into any definition one may make, of Meat interfering with the show? If Meat says, they go their separate ways, then Jim Steinman's Bat Out Of Hell is purely Jim's. If Meat says to the UK universe, that Meat is always part of Bat, isn't he dimming Jim's light? | |
