I think that's something that came out after the fact. I remember Meat saying on the forum years later that they wanted him to do "Alive" because it was going to be in a movie and then when he caved in and did it afterall, they ended up recording it with someone else! That version is out there somewhere. I heard it once. Meat said he didn't like that song because he couldn't see the truth in it as an actor.

I remember Meat saying at the time that there would be about seven or eight Steinman songs and more like THREE non-Jim. Somewhere along the way that evolved... I wish they'd just done the Jim songs. In spite of everything else, it still would have been ALL Jim so it technically would have preserved the tradition.
