| What can I tell you about my feelings regarding Braver Than We Are? Iīll make it short because itīs hard to express and to find the right words and I wonīt talk about the most obvious aspect of it all. There are parts I really really love and there are parts I just donīt understand I guess. I love the fact Meat did an album again with Jim as the songwriter of all the songs (and the title doesnīt matter to me at all). Iīm glad that Paul Crook did this production job and Iīm sure he did everything he could. Meat surely GAVE IT ALL AS ALWAYS! :ī-) Iīm thrilled Karla and Ellen are there together with Meat and they still sound so damn amazing! Iīm sad Jim wasnīt there physically (talking about missed opportunities AGAIN )-:) and that you can just hear it throughout the whole record like always when someone else does Jimīs job without his direct involvement. Could live without: LYADJBSGDI: I just donīt get why it had to be redone. To me the original version is ultimately the one and only one and this new invarnation doesnīt do it for me. My skip song since the first listen. More: Same here. Misses all the great elements of the original version. Train Of Love: Uhm, why end an album with such a song? Does it really add anything? Shouldīve ended with SOYC. The songs I really love: Who Needs The Young: So special and different in every way. Itīs right in the face of everyone, haha! Well done Jim, Meat, Paul.... :-) Braver Than We Are: My personal highlight because it gives us a bit more than a glimpse of what couldīve been with Jim in full charge PLUS it has the two leading ladies of their success reunited together with Meat and they both sound oh so heavenly! Speaking In Tongues: Not much to say just beautiful. Jim Steinman. Souvenirs: Itīs all about the lyrics, not so much the music. I loved the Sax in RARDCT or for example in Absolute Beginners by David Bowie but here itīs just too straight up front. Only When I Feel: Bona fide! But too short. Godz/Skull Of Your Country: I just love the complete package, lyrics and interpretation! And when you finish this record with these two songs without a tear in your eyes thereīs something completely wrong with you! I wish Meat all the best for his future and acting career and I hope Jim will be back HUGE with his musical and get what he deserves! Iīm very very grateful and blessed that these two touched my soul as deep as possible. Markus | |
