Hi, you are replying to me, but it was rockfenris2005's topic and example. I do believe that there is a difference the same as you, because clearly there is a reprise, as opposed to a repetition. But, while we are now on the subject, and Jim on his blog has called his repetitions "Liet Motifs" I consider that his intent although not as obvious between the other areas, are as if they are reprises, with the same design of intent as the reprise between these two songs. I see alot of meaning in Jim's various works, and I'm inclined to accept his claim that he is not repeating for the heck of it. Reprises are mental reminders, Liet Motifs are tie-ins of thematic structures, be they psychological or obvious, and so the debate is handled thus on my thinking. Any other writer, I think we are safer to say that they are trying to do something without knowing what they are doing by reusing things. And a reprise is on-purpose in those instances.

Anyway, it may have been rockfenris2005 who made the topic and the connection, but in this instance it did not seem like joking.
