| At least you should give me the chance to post comments like this in an environment that I choose, because I expect different reactions here than on MLUKFC, where sadly there are many people who do not accept any critique concerning Meat. Since I am both a Jim and a Meat fan, I would think that my actual astonishment concerning those recordings, and I have only heard him sing Jim songs on that show, are reason enough to point towards those videos and ask people here, who are always supplied very well with material, for more of that kind. Actually I don't think you are addressing me when you say that someone doesn't like you to do this or that. i am more of a middle-of-the-road kind of guy, I have much sympathy for both Meat and Jim, and I also see both very critically. And allow me to state that I see a studio recording in a different light when it becomes obvious that the artist singing on that recording is not able to deliver a constant quality when he's performing those songs live. I have to wonder if the recordings have been heavily edited. Of course I fear the bursting of that bubble that's been a gigantic part of my youth. At least I would like to hear some new Jim songs, written in the style of the first two bats, recorded and produced by Jim in the style of the first two bats, sung by Meat in a quality comparable to the first two bats, or, at least, sung by a fresh new singer who has the same spirit. And I don't expect the Dream Engine to deliver that kind of material. Actually I also do sympathize with you. And my previous sentence where i said that i was "wondering if I was stupid" was in accordance to the common tone here on this board. Maybe I should have been more confident. Regards, Marco | |
