Yeah, but it's more complicated than that. "Whistle Down The Wind", the film and the book, isn't all that known. "The Phantom of the Opera" is one of those big horror/silent movie greats. "Phantom", the musical, was done when ALW was on a high. "Whistle" was done after ALW bombed with "Aspects Of Love", "Sunset Boulevard" and "By Jeeves", not to mention the failure of the "Joseph" revival on Broadway. He hasn't really had any *big* success since "Phantom". Only now is he (sort of) coming back with "The Sound of Music" and "Joseph" reality TV series and maybe the Phantom sequel
