I have to dig it out at times and listen to it to remind myself just how good it STILL sounds 30 years later. To my mind, Jim has never managed to put together such a coherent set of songs, with such great production values since. If I was forced to pick one song, then it would be For Crying Out Loud - it is as close to perfection as I ever heard on record. The Dream Engine should leave this song well alone (if they ever get around to doing anything else!) as you cannot match the passion, intensity and sheer brilliance of the original recording. And if Rinkoff puts any synth sounds on it I will hunt him down and shoot like a dog ;-) (oohh....controversial!) | |
