No matter when you were introduced to Jim music you can not deny it was Bat out of Hell that made Jim and Meat. That’s a simple fact of life that can’t be denied. Surmising if Meat or Jim would have made if they never met or never made Bat is irrelevant because no one knows for sure.
What is known is that Meat and Jim best and most successful work has been together. It doesn’t matter how you look at it the sales figures are there to prove it.
Bat out of hell was never a singles album never was going to be its songs were to long for radio play To suggest that bat out of hell doesn’t have the Jim feel is totally nonsense and is showing ignorance Todd Rundgren got bat out of hell as simple as that you only have to listen to the early recordings of more than you deserve and then listen to for crying out loud to see or even hear Jims sound
I find it amazing with all the stone cold fact in front of you, you can’t accept that Bat out of hell was the making of Jim and Meat and provided the foundations of what they have achieved there after
Sure as a single Total eclipse did better than Bat and sure it was long for radio play but times had changed as to what was acceptable it was no longer a no no having a song being played that was over 2-3 minutes long.
And as I said earlier Bonnie’s voice is unique a leads its way to Jim style of music. Nobody can say that Jim hasn’t had success after Bat, But as a whole Jims most successful commercial projects to date are Bat out hell and back into hell. I know its hard for you to except but that’s life.
