Rights for a movie version of Vampires lie with Paramount according to Kunze, so unless they decide to make one or sell the rights to someone who does there won't be one.
So this basically means that the rights are in the hands of a Hollywood studio, which generally are known rather to produce sequels instead of taking risks. And considering that DotV is associated with an expensive flop I doubt Paramount is willing to take that risk.
