Im a forgiving person and easily impressed (hell I liked Dance of the Vampires in NY). I enjoyed the two times i have seen him live (story tellers tour and "last world tour" around when couldn't have said it better came out). I also enjoyed his live with melbourne dvd. However 3 bats dvd sounded pretty terrible.
Either way, if I am reading you right, I think I agree somewhat. I would really only classify him as a poor singer when comparing him to his old self. There are a lot worse singers out there in the main stream who the general public will say sounds "great". Meat on his worse day could at least compare to most of them on their best.
That said, I know a large part of your hate stems from the bat out of hell 3 name fiasco, which frankly upset me as well and got me into a heated "net brawl" with his daughter Amanda, lol.
