| Max asked an interesting question when he started the "Best Non-Jim Meat Album" thread. It was: "Also, does anyone else remember the first release of a Jim related album in his/her lifetime?" There weren't many answers to this question because posters were mostly replying to the main subject of the thread (which is understandable). Perhaps Max should have strated a separate thread because the two questions are so different. Max's answer was: "For me it was either Wuthering Heights or Couldn' Have said it Better back when in middle school." I guess many younger posters were not introduced to Jim's music by Bat One. There must be some posters who first became Jim fans because of the Anything For Love single and video. Did anyone first get into Jim because of Bonnie's TEOTH? I wonder if there are any posters who were introduced to Jim's music in the pre-Bat days. Like maybe they saw the Joseph Papp production of More Than You Deserve. Or perhaps they liked the song he wrote for Yvonne Elleman when he was under contract to Robert Stigwood. I am guessing that a lot of old timers like Dave started their association with Jim's products when the original Bat album took off (that is the case for me). The very first Jim composition I heard was BOOH the song when the film clip was shown on Old Grey Whistle Test. I think a lot of middle aged UK residents had the same experience when they were young. | |
