| I've had the chance to sample through it. Haven't listened to any one track in its entirety. Not going to judge to harshly until I've fully listened to it a few times. But my first thoughts: I agree with those who think the voice is definitely better than it was on Bat III. The songs appear to be all over the place, but I'm not sure I'll end up hating that. I think this might be a record that grows on me over time. (Hell, MatLaF eventually grew on me.) What is it about the way Jimmy records piano? "Elvis in Vegas" is pretty cool, but that piano intro is just dull and passive, like Coldplay piano or Bruce Hornsby piano or the "Walkin' in Memphis" guy. How does Jimmy bring it off with such aggression? Or is it all in the musician playing the piece? I'm not immediately taken by what I've heard, but I am looking forward to giving it a proper listen or two tomorrow on the way to work.
