They are pretty bad, but no worse than a lot of the trite, cliched Diane Warren-type lyrics Meat has recorde in the past (along with countless other artists.) The thing about bad lyrics is, if they're sung well, and to good music, they don't seem so bad as when you just read them on the page. IMO, "Man of Steel" is a decent song. I'd give it a C+.

As an occasional lyric writer, whenever I find myself leaning toward the easy line, the cheesy rhyme, or the obvious choice, I just try to scrap it and go in a different direction and throw in something that I think I haven't heard before.
