Holy shit, what a mental image that is.
I very much like Meat covering Jim songs, for the most part. Unlike most people, I really like his version of Left In The Dark. Most of the covers on Monster are all tripe, but up til then they were all good.
But I've just had a thought that Jim remixing some of Meat's songs (like he did to Take That), would be waaaay more interesting. A number of Meat's songs are good without being great, but I think they could be GREAT given the right lovin'.
Blind as a Bat and Testify could both be kicked up a notch from alrite to fantastic. Testify too. Maybe even something older, like Where Angels Sing.
What do you reckon?
**As an aside, I find Meat Loaf's comment that Desmond played 'song doctor' on Blind As A Bat completely laughable, given how broken the arrangement still is…
