Good music is still being made. Just don't listen to the radio, their sole reason of existance is to spread ads and acceptable news, music may at the most be irrelevant background stuff that should not be more memorable than the ad played before or after. Similar for TV. Singers are no more than fashion icons that have to look hip. Quality of songs doesn't matter. Outfit and looks are everything.

And yep, styles change, sometimes for the better. Case in point would be 80s e-guitars eg the guitar in Pandora's Box' IACBTMN. Sadly a sound still in use by certain bands that would otherwise be better (TSO is a main offender there).
At least we can now look forward to this weekends paralympics of music in Baku.
