My response to Bellminer was also pulled when the thread was pulled. Can I repost it?

Bellminer asked (before printing the article): "JD, can we get confirmation on this?"

I replied:

This is very interesting. I too would like to know if JD has any comment. I would especially like to know where the writer got his information from. Although I am not saying he is wrong. Its sad but they can't really use Total Eclipse because the producers paid a million dollars for the Grand Rights to the Bat songs. Its just as well because Eclipse features heavily in Tanz (although so does Objects and that is being used). Because Meat recorded Its All Coming Back To Me Now on Bat 3, they have the right to use it theatrically. The thing about it heading to Broadway is not because of Jim being unable to travel though. Originally it was going to the West End but finding a suitable theatre is not easy and if a suitable Broadway theatre can be found first, then it will go to Broadway. The story part is correct. Its been the story since before Bat 1 was released. It gets tinkered with (like moving Obsidian from California to New York) but its the same basic story that Jim has always told. Its the same story that Smeghead analysed. There are those who want a different story with the BOOH songs but I am rooting for Jim's Neverland vision. I am sure that Ryan and Smeghead and JD and others who have seen various drafts of the script will agree that Jim's vision of Peter Pan is unique and brilliant and not just the same old Neverland tale. And now that Jim and Meat Loaf have made up again, who knows what might happen? Meat could play Hook. He is just right for Broadway/West End. Hee hee. Actually, decades ago, there was apparently a draft which was Meat Loaf playing Tink. I thought that Jim came up with an amazing idea there.

One thing I forgot to comment on was the the interesting legal situation regarding Peter Pan. The rights owner Great Ormond Street Hospital (who were given the rights by JM Barrie) used to write threatening legal letters when they heard about Jim's plans for a Neverland musical but the legal situation has now changed (as the article points out) and anyone can do a Peter Pan show without permission but they still have to pay royalties to the hospital.
